CCS Review
All of the questions were straightforward.If you didn't understand any of the questions, the references were either right after the question or at the end of each chapter for review.There were a couple of times that I did not comprehend some of the questions and, luckily, was able to refer back to my books for help.Anyone considering sitting for their CCS or anyone just looking for a good Coding review, I would highly recommend purchasing this book. ... You've got to read this book!
I received this book as a gift. There are quite a few books on this subject on the market and this one is the best. I too could not put it down and finished it in 3 days. It's a huge book, a great resource that is well researched and written.. I have a few friends who've purchased this book and really loved it too. I can highly recommend this book
first to take into hand
The coverage of this book is as comprehensive as there is no need to hold any similar book describing the health economics on the whole. The pollicy description is mainly US focused and less stress has been put on the international perspective. Nonetheless, Phelps' Health economics is for me the first to take into hand when preparing slights, talks or just looking for simple answer. This book will not get you there
This book is written as the product of an Institute of Medicine initiative to reduce the mortality and morbidity from errors in the American healthcare system. The Institute of Medicine is a private organization created by congressional charter to advise the federal government on specific matters. Their mission statement is to "advance and disseminate knowledge to improve human health." This book is the final report of the Committee on the Quality of Health Care in America. Their homepage is available by searching the Internet using the full committee name. Membership of the committee and sponsors of the project are available at that web site. A very comprehensive and informative book, even though the examples are for the US it can be used and applied to other countries and systems. Well-Written Text for Beginners
I'm taking my first biostatistics class with W. Daniel's Biostatistics text.It's a good book, but I think it's for more advanced statistics students.Munro's text is more suitable for beginners who have never taken any statistics class.It explains the basic but important statistical concepts in plain English without using much mathematics.Very well written and easy to understand.The exercises at the end of each chapter are well picked. They are short, yet helpful for reviewing the important concepts that have just been covered.

Statistical Methods for Health Care Research
A very well-written and helpful statistics book. It was required reading for a course in Quantitative Nursing Research last semester. Overall, the concepts such as t-tests, correlation and regression were explained in relatively simple terms. Examples with answers were found at the end of each chapter and the book came with a data disk. This was the most user-friendly statistics book that I have used so far!

Great book
I had a chance to review this book. I think the authors can make us much better understand, particularly one who is about to learn the concept of statistics. You can apply this book with the SPSS program in order to interpret the results. Anyway, I still like the calculation parts which areremoved in this edition (3rd) compared with the last one. So much information, but with an analysis that makes the point!
This is a must read for understanding American medicine.It actually has a straightforward point of view in its focus on the autonomy and status of the medical profession and the distinguishing feature in the evolution of health care institutions.The role of the medical profession in health care is unique in our society and this books historically follows how the profession has used its position to counter capital enterprise and public programs to meet pressing social needs.He makes clear that the development of valid scientific theories and their applicating into effective treatments was critical to affirming the control of physicians.Otherwise the political disputes over licensing and accreditation could not have succeeded.Obviously the emergence of HMO's and other health insurers represent the latest source of conflict.Again this work presents the issues clearly and objectively.

Excellent book
I highly recommend this book to anyone in the health care industry or anyone interested in the history of American medicine.
Great history of American medicine
For anyone interested in the healthcare as a profession or area of study, I can't recommend this book highly enough. Despite the 20 years since its publication, Paul Starr's Pulitzer prize winner is still relevant today and in retrospect his projections made of the future of healthcare in America are surpisingly prescient. Goldmine of ideas for private practice
I have her earlier book, "Building Your Ideal Private Practice," which I love. This workbook reviews some of that but goes much further and offers many new ideas and some cutting edge concepts. Its very useful for those of us in private practice who need marketing and business help from someone who has been there, done that. Lynn is a therapist and business coach, so she is in a perfect place to help the rest of us. I went to one of her workshops, and then got this workbook. This workbook is very well organized, takes you through a plan month by month, adds a lot of concepts. A great read.

Inspiring, Instructive, Energizing. Must Read.
