No instructions to unlock the transcript key on the CD Rom
I think this is an excellent product, but I had a hard time getting the code/instructions to unlock the transcript key on the interactive CD ROM.It has been block by the program developers for student/teacher interaction, but I have been going round-and-round with the publisher, developers, and anyone who I thought could help that I am a independent consumer.Still no instructions on how to unlock the key on the CD ROM.I have been referred to my instructor, (don't have one), publisher site (not useful), and place of purchase. Have not heard from them yet.However, If you buy this CD Rom be prepared to purchase seperately the transcript key 0130139785.

non working data disk
The book would be good if it was meant to be used on its own. But seeing it is sold with a data disk and the simulation requires the data disk. Maybe it would be wise to include a data disk that worked. Had I known thisI would never have spent the money I did on the book. ... Read more

The Best MT Book You Can Own
Except for texts such as Dorland's, Drug Indexes, etc., this is probably the best MT book you can get.It is not only a course in itself (it needs to be used in conjunction with the workbook of the same name) but is a useful reference for as long as you work in medical transcription.Withself discipline (you need that to work at home anyway) you can make thisbook substitute for just about any tech college or correspondence course inthe subject.

Before buying this book.
I wish I had known this book must be used with Delmar's Medical Transcription Handbook. I was under the impression that it would be more like HPI's Medical Transcription Workbook. I am studying for Part 2(practical)of the CMT exam and was hoping this would be helpful. This booktakes basic to a new level. One of the questions is "Describe thedifference between rewind and review,the fast forward and cue." If youare still interested, you need to be aware that the answers are notincluded.

Excellent choice for newbies and oldies for honing skills.
This book is an excellent condensed resource book for basic generalized information specific to Medical Transcription.There are breakdowns of words, terminology, tests an exercises for skill building. Nothing compares to AAMT Book of Style
This book is an absolute must have. I don't think I have run across a question in my transcription that the BOS wasn't able to answer. I'm new to the field and this book is ALWAYS by my side. :)It is definitely money well spent.

AAMT Book of Style... A definite reference necessity for medical transcription
I am currently working through training as a medical transcriptionist.I occasionally have errors in completed reports which almost always are corrected after reference to this book.
