Excellent cost and quality improvement book for healthcare
This is an excellent easy to read book for improving healthcare cost and quality ... sorely needed.It presents 38 straight forward LEAN steps to improve quality and cost.These are things we can do now.Its appendices contain some good real world examples for applying LEAN to healthcare.Great book to help reduce spiraling healthcare and insurance premium costs.

Glaring Quality Defect
I'm skeptical of a lean book when there is a glaring defect on the spine of the book.The cover has the correct title, "Stop Rising Healthcare Costs Using Toyota Lean Production Methods:38 Steps for Improvement."
Great book for people concerned with healthcare mgmt

Medical Coding Specialist's Exam Review Hospital is a wealth of information for anyone planning on taking either one of the hospital exams. not bad
the seller send the book very soon but she give me a wrong one, and then she send me another one, but it was lost in the way. Although she returned my money, but I took a course two weeks without textbook.

7th Edition pulls itself into the 21st Century
Having had to wait many weeks for the new, revised 7th Edition I was very pleased to note the improvements made from the 6th Edition. The color examples, universal legend symbols and easy paragraph read for the student are excellent. Another long awaited addition is the expanded Medi-Cal section (applicable to California only). Having been in the industry for 25 year I can say that this is the best Billing book on the market that I have been able to find. The only down side to this book is that it is not written for the "new" biller, but more for an intermediate to experienced biller. As long as the instructor can "dumb down" some of the excellent explanations, students will learn a tremendous amount from this book. I use it in my classroom along with my own material and the students are leaving the class with a well rounded knowledge base. Over all, I am pleased with the new Edition and it's contents.

Lots of info, perhaps too much.
I felt a little bogged down by all the information contained inthis book.It seemed too detailed and included a lot of stuff thatdidn't really apply to just medical insurance (for example thecomplete hypocratic oath which doctors take)! Overall, it was a pretty good book. It would have been a great book if they had cut out about a third or even half of the information.I thought Guide to Medical Billing, by a company called ICDC was much better. A lot of the pertinent data without too much extra.I also liked a book called The Medical Billing Handbook by Jason Cummings. ... Read more

Excellent resource for the CCS-P Exam
I used Lynette Olsen's text, "Medical Coding Specialist's Exam Review - Physician", as a study guide for preparing for the AHIMA CCS-P Exam.The text contains information on preparing for the exam as well as practice tests for both sections of the AHIMA Exam and the AAPC Exam.The practice Abstracts were very helpful and facilitated research that enabled me to be very well prepared when I sat for the Exam.I strongly recommend this resource for anyone planning on taking the AHIMA CCS-P Exam as it serves as a very effective way of focusing your study activities.

No real point at all!
This book did not really need to be written. It is written by a fraud investigator and is about nothing but specific fraud in Medicare, but we already knew there was tremendous Fraud. If you didn't know that billions are stolen in every conceivable way you do now, and don't need to read the book. Finally, someone who "gets it"!!!
This is a remarkable book which opens the readers eyes to some of the "real" issues in the financial state of healthcare in the United States.It pulls together what the people in the trenches have struggled with for years ... and puts it into an easy to read text that you just CAN'T put down.This should be required text for anyone working in healthcare or anyone who receives care from the system.
