Good Medical Resource
I was introduced to this book while in the Amazon basin...It was a very handy tool for treating minor problems and emergency first-aid since medical help was hours away.I highly recommend the book.

I loved reading this book from a friend that I was compelled to special order it on the same day I read it! I never buy books but this book changed my life. I spread the news about it and now all of my friends have boughtthe book too. I'll be going to Mexico and will be taking extra copiesof Donde No Hay Doctor with me. Too bad there are'nt more writer's of the same mind, filling in the gap between costly expertise andlayman srticture. The book is a well-balanced workbetween hand drawn illustrationsand simple, succinct text, explainingprocedures for teeth cleaning,pulling, simple filling, brokenteeth, etc.,to the uneducated, 3rd -worldvillage healthcare worker, anddescribes how toconstruct the necessary instruments and materialsout of what bits can befound at hand, for all the procedures.At one end, we pay for thedentist's scent & muzak, at the other, with this book, they discardtheintervening fluff and tripeand get something done themslves.Actually, thebook deals with poorer standards than readersanywhere else would like toseeaddressed.

Pray that you do not have a class that requires this book. Most of the articles in this compilation are poor examples of what a health care professional should know. Since this is a compilation of articles, half the terms used have no straight forward definitions, and of course there is no glossary. You will find yourself constantly referencing previous works by the various authors to try to make sense of anything. Beware!! ... Read more
