I love this book. I use its medicine for almost everything from headaches to stomachaches. I would remained this book to anyone looking to an alternate root for medicine.

good study book
This workbook is a very good study tool for paramedic school. I would recommend every student to purchase this book.

Wishy Washy
I found this book helpful in some aspects, but it definetly condradicts itself all over the place.In one place, it says that neonatal compressions are to be 5:1 and in another place it says 3:1 - as for my class tests, my teacher used the test manager that came with it, AND we learned 3:1, so I knew that was the answer, but nationally, when I write my certification exam, I dont know what they want to see, because my text book didn't teach me much!It was really easy to look up definetion and the algorithms were good and such...as well as the pictures from actual (or simulated) paramedic calls.But as for the contradictions and spelling mistakes, I can't give this book a very good rating.I highly suggest you invest in another book, it just isnt worth buying this book.

Essentials of Paramedic Care....Tragedy, or Not?
Well it is true that I have found a few typos already, and that was in the first few chapters.However, after reading the reviews I can show you quite a few typos.This book is good and it was the book of choice by my Paramedic instructor, because he wanted a book that was writen by a real medic, not just a former medic that is now a realestate agent.Anyways, even if the book has errors in it, remember that the most important instruction tool along with your book is your INSTRUCTOR, and how he or she instructs you.The book gives great concepts, knowledge, and how to apply those both to the field. I believe it will be a great preparation for lectures and where I can bring up questions to my instructor.You can't blame your not being prepared for the National Registry test on a book, it is based on you.Here is my advice, if you have a problem or question from the book."ASK YOUR INSTRUCTOR ABOUT IT."They are the ones that will set you on the right track, That's why Paramedic courses aren't independent studies.Anyways, I believe when I get done with school I will be ready to hit the streets.I believe this book will help me get there, with the help of my instructor of course. ... Easy to follow and understand for the NRP novice
Studying for my renewal for NRP proved to be as easy as the initial class with the cd-rom. I have extremely limited contact with this pt. population, but I am able to easily recall the information attained through this text/multimedia. Although nothing substitutes actual "hands-on," instruction or experience, this will provide a valuable asset for the ACLS/PALS impaired.

has its ups and downs
The book has absolutely everything you need to know word-for-word to get certified in NALS. It comes from more of a nursing perspective so little details like how to operate the jackson-reiss and anatomy of the airway will be extremely redunant for respiratory therapists. Excellent Information
The book include many useful information, most of all, within the numerous schools of fitness testing and indicator, ACSM is still the most professional and reliable source.

Invaluable
This book by the American College of Sports Medicine is an invaluable resourse for anyone in the field of Exercise Physioloy or other related fitness fields. I use it on a regular basis as a quick reference guide for fitness testing and evaluation. This also a necessary book for anyone taking one of the ACSM certification tests. I highly recommend this book.

visual learners best friend
As a visual learner studying in the science/maths field, and being an English/Arts major, I found this book incredible helpful in making the basic and more complex areas of physiology concrete in my mind. This in turn has helped me do well in my exams. Worth a read if you're interested in physiology.

From a 32 year veteran teacher.
This is a great book to use with prek students as well as kindergarten and first graders.The lesson plans are there to use as is or to be modified to fit the needs of your students.

Woderful!
I have found this book wonderful. It brings us tools to teach phonemic awareness to children that are struggling readers.It has a lot of activities they like and step by step are taking them to the beautiful world readers have.

MRI In Practice is by far the best physics book to study fromfor the registry exam. Very well written and easy to understand. I've been an MRI tech for 14 years and I use this book as a reference all the time in my current position of Chief Technologist. If you know this book cover to cover, you should have no trouble passing the physics on the test!

A great little review book
I really recommend buying this book. It's better than Mosby's Review, because it actually simplifies the concepts for you. I didn't get a feeling of being overwhelmed when I studied from this book. It's a good review for anatomy in general. It gives a great overview of each system, and I love that it went over contraindications for each disorder/disease too(very important). The only thing it is lacking would be information on Modalities. There just isn't enough. I got at least 4 or 5 questions(it may not seem like a lot, but it is, trust me) on Aromatherapy and essential oils (which ones do what, etc.) on my NCE, and if it weren't for my essential oil-addicted teacher in class, I wouldn't have had a clue about aromatherapy.
This is not needed for the TN test for NCBTMB
Nothing from this book is on the test. Yes it is a good book but if you are looking for a good study guide to take the test in TN please look elsewhere I know it has cost me another 225.00 to retake the test!

Disappointed.....
I purchased this book a few months ago, because of the reviews on Amazon. I used this study guide, made a few hundred flash cards and aced the review exams, but on the day I actually took the National Exam I failed. I was blown away by the difference between the type of questons asked on the exam vs. how I thought it was going to be from this review book. Yes, it was helpful to a degree, but I wouldn't bother purchasing save your money and spend it somewhere else. It is misleading.

Pocket guide?
My main gripe with this book is that it's hardly portable. It's pocket sized- if you're a kangaroo...and kangaroos are NOT allowed in the radiology department!

"Pocket Guide to Radiography" served as one of my references for the ARRT examination along with "The Ultimate Study Guide for the Registry Examination in Radiography: Key Review Questions and answers." "Pocket Guide to Radiography" had all the information for the positioning portion of the test.The central ray, part position, and patient position are always described in a very descriptive but easy to comprehend fashion.The pictures are great and easy to follow.For awesome practice questions for the ARRT Examination, I also found "The Ultimate Study Guide for the Registry Examination in Radiography: Key Review Questions and Answers" to be a wonderful reference.These books helped me to pass the ARRT the 1st time I took it.For quick look-up of medical terms, I also found "Dorland's Pocket Medical Dictionary Book" quite practical and also excellent. ... Excellent resource
For anyone who used the AAOS's "Orange Book" for their EMT-Bcourse, this book is an excellent choice because it gives you a differentperspective on the same things. Of course, the Brady series is solidreference material anyway.

I DO NOT test well at all...and After failing the registry with a 73, I purchased this book, worked with it for 3 months, re-took the registry and made an 86! The online testing makes it so easy to work on the areas where you are weak.It's proven, the Lange Q&A-Radiography review book made the difference between pass and fail for me!Thank you D.A. Saia

Good reference, not quite what I expected
It was probably my fault for not giving the book 5 stars.I was expecting a book that would be a little easier to use in practice.This book does a really good job of giving various physical exam tests.It has lots of good pictures and other graphics.My two complaints, and what bumped this book down to a 4 instead of a 5, is that it is a little too "all over the place" with the exam.I would have preferred a book that helped me to focus.In that respect, Cooper's Pocket Guide and Hoppenfeld's physical exam book are much better.Also, I would have liked to have some treatment sections in this book.Still, all in all it's a good buy.

Best Orthopedic Exam Reference Textbook
This is the best orthopedic exam textbook I've found. It has good illustrations, is very inclusive in its content, and is well organized. You could think of it as a sort of illustrated orthopedic examination encyclopedia. It's a bit burdensome to read (and carry) because of its inclusiveness nature. So don't think you'll be carrying this one in your pocket for each exam. However, you'll be glad you have it on your shelf for reference. Great work Magee! This one is well worth purchasing. Especially if you are thinking of, or can afford, only buying one orthopedic examination reference. Lastly, don't expect treatment therapies from this book. It is purely diagnostic.
