Excelent and "readable" neuroanatomy
Theres no way to learn everything about the Central Nervous System in an easier way than with this book.Its even got a separate Clinical section for every chapter!! I really enjoyed reading this book, along withAdam's Neurology(another great one).
Very good reference, slightly poorer textbook
I am not a bioscience or medical type, so this text is rather out of my field. However, with that said, I have an interest in nervous system functioning and have found _Functional Neuroanatomy_ a very useful reference. It is slightly poorer as a textbook as it suffers from insufficient internal cross referencing (some exists, and a physiology book would no doubt have more). The index is reasonably complete in this regard, but relying on it can be awkward, particularly when it comes to looking up structures which have different names in different texts.

useful, interesting, educational, excellent reference
I bought this book because it was dual-purpose. One, it has understandable text describing neurophysiological pathways. Two, it has a text which had cross sections of the CNS in magnetic resonance and cadaver sections. In addition, to many easy-to-follow, educational diagrams, it has brief one-line summaries of the breadth on each page. Itis an excellent choice for aneurological reference text for alibrary. ... rudimentary overview
This is a short, simple overview of the PA profession that is worth the used book price.It reads more like a long magazine article than a book, for some reason.Anyone needing a nice quick introduction to the job will be satisfied with this book, although it's out of date.The many people interviewed seem to all be from Chicago, which is unusual, and also most got their education several years ago when there were literally dozens of different ways to become a PA.Modern day applicants will find many of the loosey-goosey programs of the past are now traditional masters programs just like any other.The old "I worked with a doctor for a few years and they let me sit for the boards" type of story is history, nothing more.Most of the content is just published questionnaires and personal short essays from respondents, without commentary or context by the author who seems to have no real personal knowledge of the profession.He might as well have been writing about the history of the bicycle or how air conditioning has changed our lives.But if you are just starting out and need a quick look at the job, this isn't a bad place to start.

difficult reference
Although I found this to be somewhat usefull I thought that many of the questions were not appropriate for a generalist while preparing for the board exam.I was perhaps more frustrated by the number of mistakes that I found in the answer key and explanation section of the text where theanswer did not correspond to the letter choice given.
