Practical?
If you are teaching or learning EKG's this is not the book for you! Although this book is initially inviting because of the color (it is much easier to measure strips on colored ECG paper) the measurements in the back are wrong in the appendix and are confusing to learners. This book also does not have "beginning" strips to learn, or typical strips for that matter. There are limited examples (50) to identify and that is NOT sufficient for learning ECG's. With the price of this book I would highly suggest another choice...any choice for that matter.

This book is awesome.The chapters flow nicely from one to the next and the text is to the point and easy to understand. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in cardiac care.

Clear as mud.
This book couldn't decide what it wanted to be.There were sections that were very detailed and not clearly explained.On the other hand, there were sections that were lacking significant explanation and contained so little detail that it was impossible to understand.

An Introduction to Clinical Laboratory Science
I've found this book a good resource for developing training in Laboratory Science for Biomedical Electronic Technicians.Most new Technicians have extensive electro-mechanical background. Unfortunately, they are usually weak in the Clinical Chemistry area when new to the field. This book gives them a good background in Clinical Laboratory Science that is not written "over their heads."

Clinical Chemistry Excellence
We have this book in our clinical chemistry department and refer to it constantly, it is comprehensive and contains all of the data and explanation needed for the scientist on the bench the clinician looking up the biochemal basis of a disorder, and the pathologist making a descision on clinical data.

SBB Program
This text was suggested for the SBB program.It is very good but is not clear in some of its definitions and explanations. Some views seem contrary to other texts we are using.

my professor recommended this book to the class. though this book refers to human urinalysis, it is helpful to us veterinary students.there is little differnce between animal and human urinalysis, and there are no veterinary urinalysis books on the market

Nothing New, OK for beginners
This book brings nothing new to the table.It is a re-hash of any other useability engineering book.On top of that, it simply outlines topics.This would be good for a beginner only.Having several authors brings some different views, but makes reading difficult.Yet the most dissapointing is that the main author, Wiklund, is the worst writer in this text.This feels only like an attempt to make money from a useability textbook on medical devices, instead of an actual attempt to convey useful information that could help engineers improves lives. ... Don't Waste Your Money For This Brief Book
I was extrememly disappointed with this book altogether.I am taking a phlebotomy course and have been sharing a classmates book "Phlebotomy Essentials," since mine is not even satisfactory.It is a very brief text and does not even include the important Laboratory/Test Medical Terminology and abbreviations, such as BUN, GTT, etc... I would definately not suggest this book for a National Exam study guide.Sorry I wasted my money and now have to pay extra to get the right book for my needs. ... Read more

What diskette?
This book is very helpful in that it reviews basically everything that you need to know for the AST exam. The major problem is that there is a defect on the diskette and that it will not work, not this one or any of the other ones that you may get.
