basic but good info
This book is easy to read and a quick reference.However, I agree that you will need to refer elsewhere for more detail.Our clinic has just purchased the hand rehab volumes in hopes to gain more knowledge.

Hand Rehabilitation
This book gives case studies of specific hand/arm injuries with time-tables for splinting/treatment in therapy, etc. Aids in outpatient clinic setting.

not bad !
This book is the shorter-black-and-white version of Moore's & Dailey Clinical Oriented Anatomy book. It is quite simple and the illustrations are not Dali's impressions of the female anatomy but for the need-to-know-basis Physical Therapy student it is quite suffiecient. This book gives a good and detailed explanation of the the human skeletal structure. The type and function of a joint, the funtions of the ligaments arount a joint, the functionsof the muscles around a joint. Not only dothe authors explain how each and every joint specifically works but alsohow the joints work together to do a specific movement along with whichmuscles are involved. Good, happy, uplifting book

This is a wonderful book
This book has been very informative. It has an abundance of information. As a new grad I refer to this book often and I have found it very helpful.

A "must" for OT students!
As a current OT student, this book is wonderful!The pictures and the understandable language is great!!This book helps with the understanding of the OT profession.I only hope that you get out of it what I have!!

Teaching In a Foreign Country?

Invaluable
I got an earlier edition of this book in Physical Therapy school and it was invaluable in teaching the finer points of goniometry.I constantly used it as a source of information, until I became comfortable with measuring joint range of motion. Since I am now working in the inpatient arena, I mostly repeatedly measure knees, but refer back to it when I need to brush up on another joint.It has clear pictures and overall is a great reference book for anyone who has to evaluate joint ranges of motion. ... I love this book!
I bought this book while searching for directives to do with my art therapy groups. The cover was so enticing I had to take a look, but I never expected to find the treasure trove inside. This is the book I have dreamed of writing myself. It is laid out beautifully, it is colorful, has great photos, good explanations, and is overall very inviting. Just thumbing through it makes me want to pull out some paints and play.

I wish Ward Wrote More
The author brags that Ward, who termed the phrase "myofascial release" and helped popularized it among mainstream American Osteopaths, was one of the co-authors but he only contributes two paragraphs regarding myofascial release. The book describes different techniques for different problems but the reader should be warned: Myofascial release is both clinician and patient dependent, so the book should only be a guide of what you could possibly do. Furthermore, myofascial release involves three parts: compression, traction and twist. The author just describes stretching in her techniques. Because myofascial release is so patient and clinician dependent writing a book on this particular technique is very difficult. The author has not been able to meet the challenge.
