Save your money
This book was required as supporting material for an OT program. This book is full of mistakes and the diagrams are very hard to follow, misleading, and/or mislabeled. Truly a waste of money, save your money and check it out from the school library and photocopy the darn thing if you have to use it. Useless is an understatement.

Clinical Kinesiology -- Save Your Money!
This text book is an abomination.It is riddled with mistakes, often incomprehensible in its explanations, and fairly useless as a reference book.Its schematics and diagrams are consistently mislabeled and confusing.The salient points of each chapter are either obscured or misguided.Avoid this mess; don't waste your time or your money.

Never again will I use this for a textbook
I made the mistake of selecting this book to teach functional anatomy and kinesiology. There are numerous mistakes and emphasis in the text is on information that is not pertinent for PTAs. The author neglects other information that is essential for PTA students. I ended up trashing the book midway through the semester and creating my own "text". I am just sorry my students paid hard-earnded money for this text that they will never use as a reference. Read more

One of THE wisest books on Body Wisdom!
If you are interested in a somatic approach to learning more about yourself, or learning how to help others, this book is one of THE very best books on the intelligence of the body, that I have ever read. The world needs more of this
I work in the fitness industry as well as dance. I see how important dynamic alignment is to do ANYTHING in dance and I think the general population needs a deeper understanding of it. I struggle with my balance and this book has been a wonderful tool to help me improve my technique.

This is a really good resource for alternate approaches to body alignment and integrative structure.A different approach with much promise.Worth the read!

Live with gravity not against it.
I am a big fan of EricFranklin's books.As a dance instructor, not a fitness instructor, he is well aware of the finer points of human performance that are often overlooked by a society so focused on speed and strength.I would recommend this book for two groups of people.One is those studying anatomy.By going through the exercises, the major muscles and bones of the body can be learned on deeper and more useful level than simply by studying them in a book.Experiential learning is best in this case.Second, those with a strong ability to visualize, which doesn't include everyone.Alignment through visualization can be adifficult skill to learn.Having taught in a field similar to Franklin's, I know that not everyone has the internal sense to grasp the concepts here.

Who Knew?
I learned a lot about how to keep my ospeopedia from progressing into osteoperosis.Who knew that walking did not help?This book claims that the key to preventing osteoporsis is weight training.The author provides six basic, progressive work-out progams which can be done at home.I was definitely inspired to try her approach to preventing bone loss.

Like many people who are diagnosed with osteopenia or osteoporosis, I recived just about NO information from my doctor on how to improve bone health.It was just -- "take this pill and I'll see you at your annual physical."I was deeply upset that she had no information for me, provided almost no insight, and seemed vastly disinterested in providing any.I went out and looked for books to provide the information I needed.I found this book and couldn't be happier.In conjunction with Gillian Sanson's enlightening book "The Myth of Osteoporisis," this book should be in the hands of everyone who is interested in bone health.

an excellent resource and/or text for athletic trainers
I have used many sports medicine books, including Arnheim and Booher, and this is the book that I continue to use the most. Includes thorough etiologies, pathologies, signs and symptoms along with management skillsthat every athletic trainer needs. Great illustrations and photographs. Mycopy is literally held together with trainer's tape because I and mystudents use it so much.There is an excellent study guide that accompaniesthis book and it would be great if Amazon could offer it. The ISBN numberis 0-683-00176-0 if that helps anyone.

Very well organized; great anatomy illustrations.
Years ago when I took my first athletic training course, I used Arnheim's book. It was all I had known until this book was published. I am currntly teaching an introductory athletic training class and am using this textbook. I feel this book is much better organized and does a better job inthe injury and rehabilitation explanations. It also makes very good use ofanatomy illustrations, tables and figures. it was so so
i thought the book was ok, but it was not what i thought it would be.i do not feel fully prepared to take the boards for massage therapy.i feel there should be more questions on the disk. The book did help some but not to the extent i wished.

Excellent review
The time that it took for papers to be processed for the exam was waaay too long. I was pretty nervous and had lost some of my confidence about information retention. The questions in this review book are set up closely to the national exam for therapeutic massage and bodywork. The exam includes a lot of Chinese Medicine and Shiatsu questions so I would suggest some extra study on these topics. I did not use the audio c.d. that came with this book...it was not necessary. This was the only study guide that I used along with notes from school and I scored "high" under all subjects.
