and excellent mate to "seirin atlas of acupuncture"
This is a serious work of the Chiness academy of traditional medicine ofBeijing, it is a needed piece to understand the laberintic-like acupuncture theory, for the medical doctor that uses acupuncture as a help, not a life style but aevery day help in the art of cure. I recommend it for beginners and not just them but practical fellows, if u take the Seirin Atlas of Acupuncture, that is excellent, this item will clear every doubt.

Read it in Spanish but it should be as good as English
Basically, I wanted to have an theoretical insight in acupuncture. I have already read articles in a Mexican magazine called "Muy Interesante" and "Discovery", yet not of those were deep enough. Luckly, my search paid off. Although somewhat overwhelming by historical information about the evolution and origins of acupuncture (at the beggining), this book really gives a through explanation of acupuncture's theoretical principles such as the concepts of Qi, Channels, Meridians, Points, etc. I read the first chapters only, but they were enough to convince me that this book is a very good information compilation. Gua Sha: Atraditional Technique for Modern Practice
Gua Sha is a technique that uses a skin lubricant, such as massage oil and a simple chinese ceramic soup spoon (no sharp edges now!). It's a life saver for the tired figers of those who have to give massages to those withtight, fibrous, ropy or crunchy muscles. Academics & serious students of acupuncture only should buy
After finding out that what is taught in the West as `Traditional Chinese Medicine' was basically created by a Chinese Communist government committee from some but not all of the various ancient texts and practices that are available, I wanted to reconstruct Traditional Chinese Medicine (particularly acupuncture) as it actually existed prior to the Communist revolution.I came across Celestial Lancets in the process.Make no mistake, it is a tome, complete with more footnotes and references than most of us can read in several lifetimes.
