A must have for anyone into the touch therapies
I was fortunate to find out about this book back in 1999 through acasual converstion with a Licensed massage therapist just before I had finished my own training for LMT. An excellent book for both novice and experts!
I really loved this book. It clearly explains the western and eastern views on body energy meridians. The diagrams that are used are some of the best I have seen. I have been able to find exact pressure points with theauthor's precise instructions very easily. I have used the pressure pointsto relieve headaches and pain associated with kidney infections. Great 5 element book!
For you unfortunate students who only got to experience TCM training and feel like the emotional component was ripped out of a system which is supposed to be rooted in the spirit.Perhaps this book will help you on your way.Dr. Rose provides the basic fundementals of Worsley 5 element, discusses energy blockages in channels, and apitherapy.Her clear writing provides an easy explanation for both the experienced practioner and beginning students.Anybody looking into treating from the spirit must read this book.

If you can't be the king, be a healer
Wise words from a wise man.This book by professor Anton Jayasuriya is a very good introduction to the science of acupuncture.The book is easy to read and contains excellent anatomical channel maps and "landmark" descriptions. Therapeutics is rudimentary but again very useful to the student.Of particular interest is Professor Anton's fondness for Baihue (Du 20).Every patient who attends the Medicina Alternativa clinic in Colombo (Sri Lanka) receives an initial needle to this point, which is reflected in therapeutics.

A real bible on acupuncture...for the medical profession..if
This is a real bible for medical profession, the only thing that may help a lot is if you get a better kind of paper, ...( one needs it for a long period of one's life, maybe years, and will use it very much as consultating book). Any way I, as a medical doctor, see this book as a rare and non usual pearl...in acupuncture for medical doctors, andevery M.D. would help his(her) patients if read a book like this, and will make "miracles" if study in deep this diamond...

You've got to read this book!
I received this book as a gift. There are quite a few books on this subject on the market and this one is the best. I too could not put it down and finished it in 3 days. It's a huge book, a great resource that is well researched and written. I have a few friends who've purchased this book and really loved it too. I can highly recommend this book.
Informative
I think this book was informative, helpful and written with the idea of helping COPD sufferes and their families. (Unline some other books that seem to have been written just for the money.) Mr. Green takes an honest and helpful approach to explaining why and how the condition effects the body and some very pratical ideas to help make living each day better. I would recommend this as great reading for anyone who has or knows someone who suffers from COPD.

Good insight into real Martial Art
The book of Walker and Bauer is a welcome futher information besides the works of Erle Montaigue. The authors have deep insights into the art of acupuncture. For this reason it was easier for them to go into the secrets of DIM Mac. Nevertheless without medical knowledge it remains difficult to understand all details of this theme. There are some mistakes in the book, but it not so important. For example the paintings and the text of the bladder meridian use different systems. Therefore some acupuncture points do not correspond between figures and text.A lot of fighting combinations in Dim Mac remain hypotheses, because a scintific analysis is not possible or mandatory. Such combinations may result in damage of individual health, experiments have to be forbidden. Nevertheless this book is an exellent work of ancient chinese martial art.
Only minor disappointments...Overall good book
The Book delivers almost exactly what it promises ,so I will not mention its good points .One thing I didnt like much was the lack of clear photos for the points ,inside the chambers section of the book .Although you get a rough idea on where each point is ,I had to use my older bibliography in order to pinpoint the exact location of most points .
Superlative!
I am proud to call Rick Bauer a friend and his prescence in my martial art life has always been positive, informative and influential. His long tireless work to bring this superlative book to fruition, on a deeply intricate and little known art, Dim Mak, iscommendable. This collaborative effort with Master Flane Walker has long been needed and I am now able to clearly state that this is the book the internal martial arts community has been missing.

The law of 5 elements
This is not a bad book for someone wrote it quarter of a century ago. While it does cover laws of 5 elements for a medical profession the most annoying feature is the appearance of large fonts and outdated Chinese Pinyin. The large fonts are cluttered together making it very hard on the eyes. I checked 5 other similiar books and this is the only with such printing style. The Wade-Giles Chinese is also outdated as new students do not get it. Perhaps one should contemplate releasing a new edition with both PinYin and Wade-Giles terms and making the pictures in the back more readable (too small). Also it should include some sources of online sources as 25% of readings in any medical science should contain more recent information. Paid $16 from the publisher and it is a good book for the money.

A neat little review
I bought this book when I was wanting to review for my senior level exams in acupuncture. Tsubo: Vital Points for Oriental Therapy
The book provides clear information and illustrations on the Oriental Meridian system and the tsubo acupoints. It also provides information about use of the points in practical application, both technique and condition-specific. It is a good book for self-help but also a good reference for practitioners.
