Practical manual. Precise diagrams.
This is a very good manual, don't expect detailed explanations because there aren't. However, the diagrams are clear, precise and even though they are in black and white images they show everything that is necessary.
amazingly simple
Acupressure has been around for ages but as other holistic medical techniques it has not been a part of our Westen medical practice. People usually resorted to it after everything else (drugs, surgery, etc) failed to help in their particular medical condition.
I was able to alleviate my wrist pain
My wrist was bothering me for over a year. I have tried wearing the splint but achieved little effect. My doctor was considering operation on my carpal tunnel nerve. I have decided to give a try to this Acupressure book. I was able to find trigger points indicated in the book easily - the description of the points was satisfactory. I have been massaging the points indicated in the book for several minutes each point. The pain subsided quickly after the massage. I have stopped treatment 2 weeks later. Now 3 weeks after I have stopped treatment I still have no problem with my hand. ... Read more

Well written, well organized, and a helpful contribution to the field
Thought Field Therapy (TFT) was developed by Roger Callahan in the 1970's. This involves touching or tapping on prescribed series (algorithms) of acupuncture points that are specific for particular problems.

Superb !
The author claims that his innovative self-treatment technique works miracles... and he is absolutely right. As a practitioner of acupuncture I have often been frustrated at my disability to treat myself when I was in pain. Great Read
I loved this book. While not every section of it is outstanding, most of it is!! The content is of high quality, and yet is written in a straightforward manner. I am very glad that I purchased this book. The section on the Eight Extraordinary vessels is superb!

The way it is.
In all actuality Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine are Medical Doctors plus. The school is longer. They are required to take the same coarses as a M.D. then additional coarses that specialize in the muscular, skeletal, and nervous system. This is only in the U.S. Other countries have no such requirements, and are pretty much glorified chiropractors.
The best Western medical explanation of Dim Mak to date
I have a black belt,an earned doctorate, and over a decade experience with pressure points/kyusho jitsu/dim mak. Therefore, I am not unexperienced when it comes to the topic. I can say without reservation that this is the best Western medical explanation of the topic written to date.
An "osteopathic physician" is an osteopath, not a physician
"Dr" Michael Kelly appears to have identified a profitable niche market in the overlapping space where bad science meets bad martial arts.Complaints about this book could reasonably be divided into these two categories.

Reaching enlightenment with acupuncture
This book is one of those amazing finds that goes beyond what one thinks a "modality" can do.The author is very clear and informative explaining his theories on using acupuncture to open and clear chakras to energize the body and reach higher states of spirituality. First of all, if you want to know the location, indications, contraindications and prescriptions for all the 400+ acupoints, please see _A Manual of Acupuncture_ by Peter Deadman, Mazin Al-Khafaji with Kevin Baker.But if you want more than a two or three word translation of the point's Chinese name, turn to _Grasping the Wind_.
