Positional Release Therapy
This is the most must have, useful book I own.Techniques in this books were used on me by my Physical Therapist.I was on high doses of very strong pain medication.Through techniques used in this book, I no longer need to sleep with a cervical collar, my sciocita is fixed, as well as many other areas of my body that were in constant severe pain.I now take little and no pain medication.Positional Release Therapy along with other simple aids have helped me get back to a more normal life.The book is written so clear that a person without medical knowledge can effectively use the procedures.The good thing is you can't mess something else up by doing it wrong.You follow the directions and pictures until you get it right.Surgery was recommended by doctors on my back and this is now not a necessary option for me.

clinically helpful
Although I've only taken one strain/counterstrain course (for the extremities) I use this text frequently in the clinic.The photos are clear and I can easily duplicate the positions for the neck/back although I've had no specific course instruction on those areas.Many times the techniques from this book have helped when other things haven't worked.Definitely worth checking this one out.

Easily organizes strain/counterstrain intervention

Great text to learn chiropractic technique
I recently graduated chiropractic college and found this book to be one of the main sources to help me learn chiropractic technique.The pictures are great.It shows you how to set up and what the direction of torque is.I used this to study for the National Boards Part 2, 3 and 4.It also has a great section on how show how to translate a PRS-SP Gonstead listing into a National or Medicare listing.This section alone helped me a lot on the boards.I also used the following study guides for the preparing for the Chiropractic National Boards: "The Book Rules"
Ok, I have not "yet" finished Dr. Bergman's compilation.However, I must say that I have a unique insight into its origins, namely its editor, Thomas Bergmann.As a student of Northwestern Health Sciences University, I am privilaged to attend Dr. Bergmann's Methods III lecture and laboratory several times a week.I also am fortunate enough to sit in on his Principles and Philosophy of Chiropractic lectures.These experiences have taught me a great deal about Chiropractic science and practice in just a short few weeks as a trimester 3/10 student here at NWHS.I have learned a lot so far and continue to learn more every day.I believe Dr. bergmann to be a giant in the field of Chiropractic Technique.While my opinion may be swayed a bit and my history in the field limited, this is my opinion.Don't believe me?Buy the book!!!!!!!

Basic Chiropractic technique made easy...
This book is in use for the Chiropractic course in Odense, Denmark, as a textbook on chiropractic technique in the 5.th and 6.th semester of the 10 semester university programme. Very Good book for orthopedics class and chiro boards
This was a recommended text in my chiropractic college for my orthopedics class.I found the illustrations very helpful with learning the orthopedic tests which seemed so overwhelming at first.I kept practicing these tests with my friends before the lab test and got good grades.The national boards do use this text as a reference, I highly recommend using this book to study for the boards for either Part II, III, or IV.For x-ray portions of boards -more so in Part III and IV---I highly recommend Skeletal Radiology by Terry Yochum.This is a definite must buy as well as Patrick Leonardi's National Board of Chiropractic Part II, Part III and Part IV study guides.The questions were great and helped me to concentrate on the important topics of high yield questions asked on the boards.Thanks Terry Yochum, Patrick Leonardi and Ronald Evans for making my life much easier in chiropractic school and on the boards. ... Spectacular book for Part IV Boards
This is a great book for the Part IV chiropractic boards.The questions helped me to prepare for the type of questions on this exam.The questions in this study guide were of the type encountered on the boards.I would also highly recommend getting volume 1 because the x-ray portion is a big percentage on this exam.This book helped me to get ready for what would be asked in the patient history rooms and the adjustment rooms.Also, it showed me which orthopedic tests were heavily tested along with neuro packages.This is a must book, many of my chiropractic friends have used this book and also found it very helpful!I wouldn't go into the part 4 board without reviewing this book first. ... Orthopaedic Review
A very complete text. However the format is not perfect for study review purposes. There is a lot of wasted space in the text with notes on the left and diagrams and tables on the right and following pages.Sometimes when your scanning,reviewing,you have to flip back and forth to see which diagrams relate to which topic. Other than that it is a fine text.
Photographic Manual of Regional Orthopaedic and Neurlolgical
It is a well written and very usefull book. I reccomand it espetially to those entering the field of musculoskeletal disorders.Each test is explained in short and precise manner with short guideline to diagnostithinking. Excellent book. Must Have for the whiplash physician
Dr. Nordhoff has put together an outstanding work that I use literally every week in my practice.I rate it as one of the top 2 books on the subject (The other is by Foreman and Croft).While our udnerstanding ofthe actual mechanisms of whiplash has changed in the past year (1999-2000),the rest of this publication is timely, informative, and balanced.Read more

Skip this book and go to the source...
Dr. Cutler barely mentions the acupuncurist from whom she learned her methods, but it was probably Dr. Devi Nambudripad or someone trained by her. So skip the copier and get your information from the woman who discovered a way to truly eliminate all allergies, not just food sensitivities. Her book, Say Goodbye To Illness, is packed full of testimonials, some which include phone numbers and email addresses, which are truly miraculous. She also has a research foundation which has verified the effectiveness of her method, which is called NAET. Nambudripad's materials are much more comprehensive, and there are a lot more NAET practitioners around the country than there are BioSet practitioners. Dr. Cutler does talk more about diet and enzymes than NAET does, but it is also old info you could get in any natural healing book. I am disappointed I wasted my time on this book and will stick withNAET.

Food for thought for the believers
The book offers a novel approach to management of common problems like obesity, depression, arthritis etc. It is based on the premise that allergy to many substances can trigger diverse and totally unrelated symptoms. Great Book to Own
I wish I had this book to use during levels 1 & 2... trust me, it is definitely excellent for level 3.The last time I seriously looked at any OMM was during my 3rd year at Des Moine, and let me tell you, now near the end of my intern year, not only did this book refresh all the OMM I had forgotten, but it explained stuff better than I ever understood it.Nobody wants to spend too much time on OMM, but it is quick and easy read - great to fill in the spaces when you don't feel like studying and want to read something "light".

Everything from head-to-toe
I was bit skeptical when I borrowed this book from our school library- it seems it was written by two students.But after reading the first 2 chapters, I immediately bought my own copy.The beautiful thing about this book is that it finally correlates anatomy with OMM- so it actual covers those "in between" questions that the other review books fail to discuss.The pictures are EXCELLENT!They actually help to make sense of some of the more difficult concepts.I'll let you know how my Step II exam goes- but I would have loved to have this book around when taking Step I as well.Also, the beginning of the book has a little chart that tells you what chapters to read for each COMLEX exam- takes the guess work out of studying.I am definitely doing better on my practice exams- wish me luck for the real deal.

An excellent text for the novice and experienced clinician
The text "Mobilisation of the Nervous System" is an excellent text for both the novice and experienced Physical Therapist.I bought this book to review for the Orthopedic Clinical Specialist exam, and have found it very helpful.The text does an excellent job of describing general anatomical and physiological reasoning behind commonly used evaluation and treatment techniques, as well as describing these techniques in detail.The illustrations and descriptionsare good, so that if you are not practiced at these techniques you will be able to clearly see the proper postioning that is required.I would recommend this text for anyone who wants to update their clincal skills or for new Physical Therapiststhat want to learn more about this aspect of Physical Therapy. ... Excellent study guide
This is such a thorough study guide for the diagnostic imaging section of the boards.I used this book along with Yochums book,"Skeletal Radiology" and aced this portion of the boards.I was glad I used this book because it showed me the type of questions asked on this portion of the boards.In fact, about 50% of the part 4 boards is on diagnostic imaging if you count also the post-history and post-diagnostic rooms.The thing about this test that is insane is the short time limit you are given for each question.Without this book, I think I would have failed part IV because I would not know what to expect.I have to say I was a lot more calm when taking the test because I was ready for the type of questions that were being asked. This is a must book for anyone taking the Part 4 boards.It's better than spending well over $1000 plus traveling expenses to take the test again. ... Read more

Secrets of the Myofascial Masters Revealed
In my opinion, this book should be read and reread by anyone who practices any form of myofascial pain medicine.Each chapter is written by a specialist.The secrets to unraveling multiple TrPs, treating the myofascial components of: whiplash; headaches; abdominal and pelvic pain; frozen shoulder; carpal tunnel and a multitude of other problems are clearly and specifically revealed.If you want to know which order to treat TrP-laden muscles and how to release difficult areas and so much more, it's here, waiting for you. This is one of my favorite books.

Superb addition to the Myofascial Pain literature :-)
This book must take it's place amongst the significant works in Myofascial Pain and Dysfunction (Travell and Simons, Rachlin and Rachlin, and Baldry). A practical and helpful guide to clinical practice of this growing medical discipline.This book will be an excellent clinical reference for day to day treatment and for integrating Myofascial concepts into all forms of conventional approaches. It builds itself on up to date references. The chapters are designated by area and the addition of the case studies suggests application of principles. The multidisciplinary contributors to this book include the notable Dr Gerwin MD, Jan Dommerholt PT, Lucy White Ferguson DC, Roberta Shapiro DO, Mary Moloney PT.

If I were in charge of the medical world, I would insist that every orthopedic surgeon and rheumatologist read this book.
