not alot of information, tons of repeating
This book should only be about 10 pages for the amount of information in it. The information is good but if you buy the companion cookbook, almost none of the recipes follow the diet they prescribe. There are recipes for liver in their cookbook! That's one of the most toxic foods, so basically it appears as if they just want to make money off of you(they're certainly not altruistic health crusaders). And Paul Bragg is dead but they don't mention how he died or how old he was(certainly not 120 as promised), I read somewhere it was in a body surfing accident, but I'm skeptical. Don't buy this book, borrow it from the library because clearly they just want to make lots of money off of you buy trying to lure you in with their promises of good health that their cook book does not support, and all the information you need is on their website.

The entire series of Bragg books and products will save your life! Jack LaLanne states; "he would have been dead at age 16 if he had not attended The Braggs Crusade". He is a product today at age 90, of how living the principes of Patricia Bragg and Paul Bragg, M.D. Ph.D is mere proof. Must read the entire series, if you want to feel good and stay forever young.

Child Nutrition Book

Excellent book
Truely masterful.Dr. Shintani clarifies the importance of the whole foods plant based diet that is so protective of chronic disease. Whole grains, fruits, legumes and vegetables make up the majority of your recommended intake with sensible exercise of 40 minutes. I've tried his program and lost 14 lbs in 12 days. I feel great. This book is strongly recommended

Disappointed UK reader
I thought that this diet sounded very sensible and healthy. I did it exactly as described for three weeks -- I was very strict about not having any fat and stuck to the healthy, slimming carbs Dr Shintani recommends, especially potatoes and sweetcorn, though I did also have quite a bit of real organic wholemeal bread (which he also allows), no butter of course -- and hoped I might have lost up to 6 lbs, a couple of pounds each week. Imagine my disappointment when I weighed yesterday and found I'd actually GAINED 6 lbs! (and I do need to lose weight.) So, this diet didn't work for me. I think it's too carb-heavy. I prefer Dr Joel Fuhrman's approach in his book The Eat To Live Diet.

Great book
This is a great book. Great review about nutrition. You don't have to take it as a diet, but as a nutritional approach. After reading it, you will know what kind of foods are better for your body and for preventing and, helping treat some diseases that come from High-fat high-protein diet, the american diet.

Exceeded expectations!
This book is great! It explains complex terminology in simple terms, and it advises natural, unprocessed, whole foods eating. I am a holistic health counselor, so I was very happy to read that the author recommends organic, local, and whole foods. This book would be great for anyone who would like to stop getting sick, have more energy, and learn more about nutrition.

Just after reading the first couple of chapters, I started eating healthier! This book has a great wealth of information on how to choose, cook, and eat healthier foods. Disappointing
Nothing new. There are much better books on fasting. This one is not thorough or backed up by enough research.

I did the fasting diet under Dr. Bailey?s supervision in 1992 while in Portland, Oregon.The results were positive and I have since done the fast many times on my own, unsupervised.

Best guide to a road of good health
I love this book and my copy is well-worn.But I wish Mr and Mrs. Bach would come out with a new edition.This one is from early 90's and much has happened in the health-related field since then. Their Nutritional Healing book is also good and more updated, but I like this format better.
