Clinical Hypnotherapy
The second edition of Clinical Hypnotherapy by Dr. Chips is an excellent revised second edition. Writing errors are to a minimum, and the content is pertinant to clinical and transpersonal hypnotherapy. This book is well worth the cover price for those who desire to learn about hypnotherapy for themselves as a client, or for the purpose of entering into the profession.

Poorly Written & Not Recommended
As mentioned in another review, this book contains many, many grammatical and spelling errors which distract from the credibility of the material presented.This self-published book is not professionally written or edited.While some of the material is useful ~ particularly the final chapter ~ it certainly wasn't worth the expensive cover price.I can't recommend this book.

I was not impressed with the book at all. There were quite a few typographical errors, the pictures were amaturerish to say the least. Time Distortion - An Extremely Useful Hypnotic Phenomenon
The book explored time distortion phenomenon and provides lot of examples - some are interesting purely from investigative perspective as in being able to count in few minutes of hypnosis the number of cotton balls it would take to count in several hours of real time; others are very practical and useful as in accelerating learning or developing a skill - imagine in few hours of hypnosis you can develop an expertise it would take you years to develop in real time.Read more

The Most Delightful Book on Past Life Regression
The first thing that distinguishes this book from other past-life regression methods is that the suggestion given to the individual was not to go and revisit past life, but rather simply to "go back to the origin of the problem".
The best book on PLR I've ever read.
As a Certified Hypnotherapist I have read several books on the subject. Dr Hickman's method is simple straight forward and I use it on a regular basis when dealing with PLR. I highly recommend this book to hypnotherapists as well as those with an interest in past life issues.

Mind Probe, Clearly and concisely
I am certified as a hypnotherapist and have used Mind Probe - Hypnosis, asa guide for getting to client's difficulties without being invasive. Ms.Hickman's work is so clear and simple in its approach, all that has to bedone is to review the material in her book once in a while, to be able tohelp clients with problems no one else seems to get through.Read more

This book is directed towards the ones that coach athletes with the aim to improve performance, and deals with how one in a systematic way can use hypnosis for this purpose.The authors claim that the method they describe can be very successful but that there is a multitude of other ways that works at least as good.This humble attitude is kept throughout the book and contributes to a very pleasant reading atmosphere.The reader gets many interesting perspectives on sport psychology and many case stories can provide a source of inspiration for the coach or psychologist.A strength and weakness with this book is that it is very clear and detailed, sometimes too clear and detailed and even extracted, which perhaps makes the book more suitable for beginners in sports psychology. ya ol' grumpy fart-head
I have no opinion of this book, never read it. I do, however, believe, that Samer, or whatever, needs to pull his underwear WAY out of his behind and have some ice cream or something.

FOOD IS NOT LOVE
This book is a complete waste of time. Meditation is completely ridiculous. You don't lose weight by meditating or by praying to the gods. You lose weight when you eat less. So here is a suggestion Catherine..and i presume you are still quite huge. I will write a book for you , and it will be very short. STOP EATING!!! Everyone who bought this book i recommend you to do the same. It's not brain surgery. Quit putting sugar on your toothpaste and stop eating buckets of KFC. That may help.
All self help should be written this clearly
This author has impacted my life tremendously with basic down to earth writing style, and virtually tons of information.From the first day, I felt better. I am using her process not only for my weight, but I am building my confidence and self esteem. My teenagers are benefiting from it too.I hear them say things that they read in the book. Anyone Can Learn Hypnosis
Through the hypnotic techniques outlined in this book, anyone can learn to control unwanted behavior such as smoking, overeating, alcoholism, and insomnia. good book
I read the not revised book. should be the same right?!?! anyway, notknowing hardly anything about it, i thought this book to be a greatresource. it takes you step by step from testing to see how suggestible tothe acctual putting under.to the people that wrote it needed to be morein depth. Its hypnosis, most of it is just repeating, and anyone can makeup there own techniques this is mearly a guide. nothing should be easythere's no fun in the conquest then!

Disappointment...
Novices should skip this poorly written "How to" book.The basic techniques outlined by the author are not fully explained.The authors favorite technique described on page 84 is incomplete or too vague. I'm concerned by the authors section on "Homosexual to Heterosexualand Vice Versa.... It seems the author fails to talk about the "viceversa"... (an attempt at political correctness poorly disguised?!)This is reported to be the revised edition (gee, I would hate to see thefirst!)Editing and proofing are needed... Very useful guide for the practice of hypnotherapy
Refer to this text many times over my career! Certianly useful for any practicing professional.

Shallow and Too Much "Hero Workship"
The way the book is written just puts me off.There is simply too much hero worship."Tebetts" appears so many times that I can only say that whoever writes this way is lacking "common sense".Yes, only a full page photo of Charles Tebbets and a drawing/illustration of the author in front of CT.Also described CT as being "legendary". Another excellent introductory text.
This book is the first of two textbooks that the author uses for his college course on hypnotherapy. As such, it is a little different from the "general purpose" introductions to hypnosis and hypnotherapy which are its general peers. A history of the science, some theoretical discussion, and a lot of practical instruction are included.Read more

I was hoping to read a book on hypnosis when I checked this book from the library.I never knew what hypnosis is all about - legitimate way of accessing subconscious, or hocus pokus.So, I set out on learning more about it by exploring the topic.This particular book was unique in a way that it explains what the hypnosis is and what state a person is in when hypnotized. What was a pleasant surprise was a fact that many shortcomings we all have: fear, lack of self confidence, desire to loose weight and many other topics can actually be conquered by using hypnisis and meditation methods as described in the book.In short, book will explain to you psychological reasons for certain experiences we all have and the alternative ways of correcting the undesired qualities, or enhancing the qualities we wish to enhance.You will learn in this book how to attract good things in one's life such as: health and happiness, - or how to love oneself first, so that you can love the people around you.Well written.Interesting read for open minded.
