Absolutely Worth getting if you relate to Caroline Myss.
This is the most involved CD and Workbook set from Caroline that I have ever had the pleasure of owning.It is a very detailed tool box, and one that will provide hours of opportunity for self-reflection and awareness. Caroline Myss and Norman Shealy (MD) speak on the CD's. Dr Norm Shealy has some fascinating medical details concerning the visualisations contained within this series and their effect on raising the levels of Calcitonin and DHEA (as well as some other hormones) for example.Read more

Lot of useful information!

Four Stars, Not Five--Here's Why:
I'm a Hodgkin's patient who's almost finished reading this book. I found it to be an easy, quick read that felt good since it validated everything I feel about illness and life in general already. My guess is most of the reviewers who gave this book five stars are the same.
Dr. Siegel helped my spouse to live two years, three months rather than six months to a year
My spouse, Lynne Behar Eagen, upon initial diagnosis in November 1993, had stage four colon cancer.The prognosis was six months to a year. However, in part, Dr. Siegel's book helped her change her worldview, her way of seeing the world and responding to the world, which assisted her in living longer than was anticipated. My loving lady Lynne died February 26, 1996.
Inspirational
I originally bought this for a friend who was diagnosed with breast cancer. After flipping through it I had to buy two more copies, one for another friend and one for myself. Even if you don't have cancer, a disease or an infection I think you will find lots of inspiration and a lot of practical advice in this book. This book is an easy read. There are a lot of amazing true stories sprinkled throughout the chapters. I've always believed in miracles being possible when our mind/body communication is opened up. INteresting
I find the mozart effect an interesting concept and have purchased a few cds for my newborn.I love classical music, and I do find that when we listen to good music, we feel energized and uplifted.
Fun Book to Read: HIDEOUS "Research" and BAD Science
While I've had the pleasure of hearing Don Campbell speak, his information is, sadly, quite flawed. As others have rightly noted, the "science" in this book is simply horrible and there are many with his comments concerning classical music. The fact that he also copyrighted the term "Mozart Effect" is also deplorable. Finally, this type of book is responsible for placing music and sound on the backburner at many research institutions as it falsely implies that the use of music and sound belongs to "new age" nonsense. As a rule, I cringe when I see that someone else has used this book as a reference to back up other poor research.

Life Changing
This book has been life changing in healing my Mother's brain injuries after a trauma in an accident with a tractor trailer. Having read the book, I took his music for healing to her hospital ICU and instructed the nurses to keep the music on at all times. I literally watched her come out of a coma, first tapping her toes to the music, then her fingers, then humming.In the unsettling sounds of a hospital, this gave her calm and focused on the area of healing where she needed it most.Personally, anytime I want to be focused, I also use Don Campbell's music.It works! ... Inner Peace
I practice meditations from the Meditation Doctor in the morning before work, and allow myself time in the work day to sit in stillness and use techniques to center myself.I feel clearer, more grounded, and more present to the people I work with as well as to my family and friends.

Yikes!
The book has some good information. But his knowledge of the runes are way off and the Christian overtones just made me sick. Otherwise there are some good things to be read and learned from this book. Sometimes he can be a bit boring though.

Big Mistake
Whereas the book does give a general over-veiw of magick, it did turn me off to evocation many years ago.It was about seven years ago when I first picked it up, and I did read it throughly.However, Tyson's Christian veiwdid speak out on his section on Evocation.I remember reading somethingalong the lines of the pagan gods being nothing more than demons, and notto go anywhere near them.It was not until a year later until I figuredout that it was just wish-wash that he had written.Outside of thissection, the book is decent, but with a few more errors. ... A book to be experienced,not merely read
This book will be an eye opener for those who put all their faith in drugs and underestimate the power of the mind and heart to heal. Dr. Miller discusses effective techniques (relaxation, guided imagery, etc.) for tapping our inner resources to bring about psychological as well as physical changes that support healing. He also explains clearly in layman's terms, the rationale behind his methods. The stories that led to the development of mind-body medicine are told with warmth and humor. This is the kind of book to read over and over again--with each reading, new insights come to mind.
