Best book I have ever read on myofascial release
I have been a deep tissue massage therapist for over 20 years.This is by far the best manual on theory and practical technique that I have ever used.If you want results as well as understanding, this is the book to get.I've also bought the author's 8 DVD set, which is almost as good as a one-on-one hands-on course with him.

Valuable and well presented material
This is a good book for anyone seeking to expand their understanding of fascia. By examining the relationship between the nervous system and the fascial network, it brings a new appreciation to just what happens under our hands when we touch someone. It's also rich with techniques, presented in a manner that makes them immediately repeatable in the practitioner's clinic. I'd recommend this book to the beginner as well as the experienced practitioner - it has material that will be of interest to massage and phsyiotherapists, OTs, osteopaths and chiropractors.

Excellent resource for Deep Tissue Massage
The foreword suggested that this is 'not just another book' & and is one of the first to 'spill the beans' on Rolfing techniques. However much of the techniques are covered in Art Riggs' book & video, although Riggs acknowledge that his book is based on Stanborough's manual.

I am an esthetician and bought this book for information on new massage techniques for the face and scalp.UGH!!What this book shows are techniques for bone plate realignment of the skull.It is full of medical terms with no reference. Way, way, too technical.

A Great Introduction to Cranial Sacral Therapy
This book changed my life. I realized after I read it that there were many paths to healing, and that I should widen my search to find one that worked for me. I only wish I could have met Dr. Fulford when he was alive.

Very good for archaeologists, and de service quality is the best.

Most Comprehensive Ever
I think that the thing I found most helpful about this book, is that the illustrations show normal articulation and then have the traumatized area together for easier comparisons. This book covers everything from cellular biology to disease pathology and histology. It's worth the money to have this book as a resource in your library.

Better than most!
This book has good illustrations and is written in some color. It breaks-down all of the common disrhythmias and explains much of what you need to know. Also illustrates the areas of the heart that is effected with certain types of disrhythmias. One of the better books I have found at this point. I think they should print a bigger textbook size of this book, it would be even more useful.

Great Ekg pocket!!. Very straight, not boring and easy understanding of the Ekg. Really helpful and time saving. Not a headache anymore on reading Ekg. From simple explanation to more complicated but easy to understand. Great for interns and residents.You should have it!.

You must have this book!!
Dr. Brose's "Guide to EKG Interpretation" is a resource that all physicians in training should seriously consider acquiring.It is an extremely thorough book, and its size is deceptive.You wouldn't think a small pocket-size book could pack this much information!As an illustration, I had a question on my Part II board exam about a "J wave", something I had never heard of, even after my EKG rotation and delivering a few EKG lectures.As it turns out, Dr. Brose's book addresses the J wave, while many other resources make no mention of it.Also, the material is presented in a way that is clear and very easy to follow.Full of cross-references, you can quickly gain a solid understanding of virtually any issue you'll encounter when interpreting an EKG.I believe that medical students, interns, residents, and attending physicians alike will benefit from owning this book.Certainly, it is something that medical students and interns should have in their pockets (it is not cumbersome...it's a perfect size). ... Great help
I'm in a class for Cranial/Sacral with a teacher who isn't very good at teaching. Frustrated with the lack of materials, a general disorderly method of giving what he does know, and his very slim instruction in palpation, I began a search for a book to help me get what I wanted. This book is fantastic! It clearly lays out the 10 step protocol and gives greattips for discovering the rhythm through palpation. The illustrations arehelpful as well. I was quickly loosing any interest in a subject (CST) that I have been wanting to learn for years but this book saved the day! I showed it to my teacher and he said that it would be a good text book to use for his classes in the future. I hope, for their sake, he does.

A short course manual
Originally a manual for a relicensure seminar for chiropractic doctors, it was published at the request of John Upleger, D.O. Not intended as a full textbook, it was meant to be a brief workshop introduction to clinical practice for doctors and worked quite well in that context. The book does offer some insights that weren't presented anywhere else, such as the "lymphatic" function of CSF circulation through the brain, which might be the most compelling reason to seek craniosacral work. There is also an interesting discussion of the neurology of palpation. People who criticize one book over another are missing the point. The various craniosacral books aren't competing with each other; it's best to get as many as you can and cull what you can from each of them. Sometimes a short course is easier to digest. The Heart of Listening, which is a phenomenal and vastly more comprehensive work, can also be overwhelming and confusing for the beginner. If you actually do the exercisesin this book, you will have a good start on what should prove to be a long journey of developing skills.

History you will need
I bought the book in order to be prepared for my med school interview but never got it quite read.I found out upon my arrival at school in the fall that the book was a required read for my History of Osteopathic Medicine course.The book is a great resource to make a person more familiar with an ever growing branch of medicine; that there isn't just a world of MD's.And who knows, maybe it will get you a bit ahead of the game for your first class in your Osteopathic medical school :o)

Thorough
As chairperson of the social medicine department at Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Norman Gevitz knows firsthand the details of ostepathy.This book is a thorough, well-written review of osteopathic medicine's climb into the medical arena; originating from the depths of the mind of its founder, Andrew Taylor Still in the late 1800's, into the growing profession of the 1980's.Unfortunately, however, it does not cover the growth and expansion of osteopathy in the last twenty years of the 20th century.It does explain, though, the legal and social struggles that osteopathy survived in its first 90 years.Gevitz also does a wonderful job explaining what ostopathy is and how it evolved from a holistic, drug-free approach to medical care into an alternative, legally licensed medical practice.I highly recommend this book for osteopathic medical school applicants.It is also an excellent book for those interested in the history and sociology of medicine in the United States.
