5-0 out of 5 stars Simple to understand, not a boring textbook.
I was assigned this book for my A and P classes at my university.I found it to be quite complete as the previous reviewer said.I also liked the writing style since it was not in hard language.Although some anatomy words are hard at first to learn like styloid and mastoid, I found the text to be easy to learn the information from.I also found two great study guides which really helped me get the grades I wanted.I discovered them from a classmate of mine. They are:

4-0 out of 5 stars pretty good
concise and well written.good for review but should not be used as a textbook. some prior knowledge is needed to fully comprehend the materials.

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Review
Ganong writes an excellent and complete review of physiology. This is a great text if you are already familiar with phys and if you want to refresh or want a reference. This is a tough text for studying physiology for the first time.Very indepth in most areas of physiology. The chapters on repro phys aren't stellar, but most other areas are great.Very logical procession. This is a must have for all those studying/researching (grad students and onwards) areas that involve physiology. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing.
As I read this book, I get the "eureka!"-feeling at nearly every turn of page. It all seems so logical when Myers lays it out. This book has really sparked my interest for Structural Integration therapy and I am going to order all of the Anatomy Trains DVDs - the first three are already on the way. I can also heartily recommend Ida P. Rolf's books on Structural Integration - she's the originator and (or should that be "but") is easily understood, just like Myers.

5-0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended
Easy to read and use.I am a massage therapist and this book has helped me emensely.

5-0 out of 5 stars ANew, Global View of the body
I have been a professional body therapist since 1979.Anatomy Trains is one of the best books I have seen in my entire career spanning 36 years. This is a great book for all kinds of body therapy styles and forms. The book clearly states and I agree that a detailed knowledge of human anatomy is necessary to follow and understand the book. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Why your reviews are important...
I am a biochemistry professor. After years of using another text I decided to try the Voet & Voet text.I was very excited about their latest edition and couldn't wait to teach with it. Unfortunately it was a disaster. There are far too many trees in Voet & Voet, and students couldn't see the forest this year.So I am looking at "Principles of Biochemistry" 4th edition by Horton et al.
4-0 out of 5 stars Fine book, for whatever it matters
The book is decent. To be honest though, reviewing textbooks is kind of funny. Does it matter what I say? I suppose if you're ordering this book because you honestly just have a burning desire to learn about the principles of biochemistry, well... the more power to you. You'll learn it just fine from this book. If you're just buying the book because it's the required text for your college class (like I expect), well yeah, doesn't really matter what I say, does it?

2-0 out of 5 stars save your money for Physical Organic Chemistry - by Dougherty & Anslyn
This book is written at the undergraduate level. The figures are a joke. It's a paperback and will fall apart. If you are in graduate school; buy the text by Anslyn & Dougherty instead. It is a nice hard bound book, durable & weighs a ton. Its worth the money and the weight in your backpack.

1-0 out of 5 stars Horrible
It is now more than a month after I was supposed to receive this book and I have not gotten it yet, what the hell is going on.

4-0 out of 5 stars Update of a Classic
This is an update on a classic text that has been used by many graduate and advanced undergraduate students. The core of the book is still an excellent survey of older literature and of enormous use to students. There are also many excellent problems.Unfortunately, there is not as much new material or references in some sections.I found I had to frequently supplement the text with current readings. The use of modern theory is especially lacking. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars ok
the book came in a reasonable amount of time but was not the same quality as was initially stated. It said the book was brand new but it had bent corners.

3-0 out of 5 stars Book NOT in Good condition.
Company was prompt and service was great. However, the book was listed in 'good' condition and it is not. I can ignore the writing and hilighting but it had a defect in which it was missing about 50 of it's pages. To me missing pages does not qualify as 'good' condition. These people obviously do not check the quality of thier books.

5-0 out of 5 stars A wonderful, scientific voyage
This book offers a broad coverage of the underlying structures and processes of speech. Beyond a primitive stage, man is unique in his ability to convey information by using his voice. And he has developed this ability from systems designed for more vital goals (eg., respiration and nutrition). In this respect, the work by Seikel, King and Drumright proves a great resource for studying the entire apparatus involved in voice production and perception, specifically the systems of respiration (energy source), phonation (voicing), articulation and resonation filtering), mastication and deglution, hearing, and neural. Furthermore, it includes several appendices for quick access to anatomical terms, morphology of terms, muscles, sensors and nerves, and a review of pathologies affecting production of voice. What I liked the most about the book is that you are systematically guided through all the germane systems, and when pertinent, the book provides references for deeper understanding of the material. Besides, after you have read sufficient content, the book shows summaries for reinforcement of the learnt concepts. Also, there are clinical notes distributed throughout the text, with germane discussions (related processes, pathologies, etc.). And every chapter has a set of questions for assessment of your understanding (do not worry, answers are included!).

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Book
The book gives details on every food group for your blood type. You can look at all four blood types at a glance in the charts given.I just wish there was more information about how to tell if you were a non-secretor or a secretor.Otherwise, good book to have in your library. The husband and I have changed our eating to be according to our blood type as suggested, and within two weeks we could both feel a difference.More energy, less bloating or indigestion. It's a good book!

3-0 out of 5 stars Physical Results May Vary!
I was considering adopting a vegitarian diet due to my many health problems and my mother told me about this book and the benefits her friends have had. So I bought the book and the information was quite facinating. It was like reading my physical autobiography, so I started the diet and I've been on it for 4 weeks and I have had no weight loss. Why..I don't know, but my energy levels have dropped significantly although I must say that my overall shape has changed. It appears that either I'm toning or I'm loosing muscle mass. The books were an easy read, but the thing I find most confusing is this concept of using herbs for ailments and overal health, there are sooooo many herbs out there for every kind of physical issue good or bad and I'm confused as to just how many pills can one person take?! I want to buy the right kind of vitamins and minerals for my body, but even on the website there are 5 or more kinds of pills that I should take, not to mention the shakes, bars and extra health meds that they recommend. I'm sorry to say that I have learned why I am sensitive to certain foods and why I've gained weight, but as to how to fix the problem, there seem to be too many pills and sometimes conflicting pieces of advice. In all, I'm more confused than I was when I was in the dark. So to all of you who have been successful with this diet, BRAVO to you, but for those of you who have bodies that are far more complex than diets and "all natural" foods, I feel you and maybe we'll find the REAL solution someday together.

3-0 out of 5 stars it was okay
I bought the book thinking that it would help me learn how to eat for my blood type but I find it very difficult to follow and difficult to read it. This is more like an index for health problems and if you are susseptible to them by what your blood type is. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Bio-Chem Book
This book is very detailed and covers a wide range of bio-chemistry information.

4-0 out of 5 stars Well-written, not-so-hot layout
My university uses this book for the two-semester biochem sequence for BSc Chemistry/Biochemistry students. It's a well-written book, overall -- lots of information but not a very dense "scientific" read. The best part is the way the authors keep tying things back to reality ... sidebars explain how the dynamics of protein folding affect Alzheimer's disease, or what protease inhibition means for the development of HIV drugs.
