Great Study Guide!!
The review book is an excellent prep for the National Registry Paramedic Exam!!Highly recommended to all Paramedic Students!

Great Paramedic Review Book
This book is great if you need to review for a Paramedic Exam. The book is excellantly divided into sections based on the type of injury/illness etc.The book has many of the same questions as the National Registery Exam and state exams.The book also comes with a CD for further review.Thanks in part to this book I have my NREMT-P certification.

would use it again!!
good, concise review.you can easily finish it in two weeks.great for reviewing the subspecialties.the QA format is nice.chapters are written by residents... i used it in prep for the qualifying exam...and passed!!!

good concept, unfortunately not well done
After reading the other reviews and leafing through the online book pages, I thought this would be a great book to review as a medical student prior to the Shelf.However, going through just the second chapter resulted in numerous errors.The most glaring being the most likely cause of hypercalcemia, which was alleged to be familial hypercalcuria hypercalcemia (in reality it is parathyroid adenoma in the general population, malignancy in the hospital).This is a very basic question, which made me question the rest of the book.Leafing through other parts of the book, I found more errors, and have decided to return the book.

Examkrackers Chemistry
This is a very good book. Amazon shipped it right away, in excellent condition. This book will help you get ready for the MCATs by acting as your very own tutor. I recommend getting all of the Examkracker series.

Great for high yield review
To get into Med school after 15yrs in business I took my Organic Chem series over again, studied Exam Kracker's 101 series until I knew the books cold, listened to EK's Audio Osmosis about 10 times while communiting then took several full length practice tests.
Excellent.Do be fooled by other texts, this rocks!!!
First of all, if you consider yourself a 'pre-med' and serious about the MCAT, then as such you probably would've done some research about your products you are using... judging from the other reviews, they have not.

There are a few mistakes in the pre-test which were annoying.The outline review is very good.The post-test on CD could be more comprehensive.

This review book is pretty concise. It really helped me get the facts that I needed for the boards. Its defeinitely a book that should be invested in.

Just took the PANRE yesterday.This study guide is helpful in broad strokes.Much better than the Appleton & Lange books. Don't bother
This book is absolutely HORRIBLE. Everything was just WAY too easy. The biology and chemistry portions consist of one-liners that barely scratch the surface of a topic. The spatial aptitude review problems are way too easy to even compare to anything you would see on the actual DAT. Plus, there aren't alot of them to practice on. I have never felt more "scammed" in the purchase of a book. I can't believe that such a well respected company like Kaplan would dare publish a test aid that was so watered-down. ... Read more

Waited for 8 weeks to receive this product.
This product sucked because I definitely ordered it about 3-4 weeks prior to the mcat.

A must for MCAT study on the go
The person who made the previous post obviously didn't look very hard at the book or try to study with it, or they would have realized that the definitions upside-down beneath the words are NOT the definition to THAT word. This is a long, thin book of flashcards with a vocab word on the Front of the page and the definition on the Back of the same page. The book does go upside down, but this is because there are more words/defs printed upside-down, therefore using the entire page (since the single word/definitions only take up half a page). So the book read right-side up is Chem, and the book held upside down and read normally is half Chem and half Physics.

Excellent resource
For anyone who used the AAOS's "Orange Book" for their EMT-Bcourse, this book is an excellent choice because it gives you a differentperspective on the same things. Of course, the Brady series is solidreference material anyway.

What?
I'm sorry, but this book was not adequate for my shelf exam.It failed to explain concepts adequately and it was far too abbreviated.I suspect it's fine if you do ample supplemental reading, but in general, I would not rely on this book as a sole source for studying pediatrics.I made a review sheet that was more informative than this book.

One of the best in the series!
This book is fairly comprehensive and will cover just about everything you will need for the shelf exam at the end of the peds clinical rotation in medical school and for usmle step 2.It is by far one of the best in the Blueprints series.The only other book I used was the "Peditatric Pearls" book which I read and carried with me because of its compact size.
Very good!
This was the first Blueprints i'd used, and i was very impressed. I went through several sections a couple of times over the course of the clerkship and reinforced with pre-test at the end. Covers most topics you need to know without getting verbose. You do need to revisit some topics otherwise you spend so little time reading the subject matter it doesnt stay with you. ... Read more

Very detailed
At least half this book is exactly the same as First Aid for the Medicine Clerkship, but it does a good job of describing pathophysiology, differential diagnosis, and surgical management of issues.It's helpful that it includes chapters on the various surgical subspecialties.

Anesthesiology Review (Anesthesiology Review)
excellent book.read it when I was bored one day.wish i'd used it earlier when on the ICU rotations.probably would've become an anesthesiologist if I'd had it in med school.one dreams of writing a chapter in that book someday...
Fantastic for all specialties
This is one of those books that can be appreciated by almost every clinician. Dr. Faust has done a fantastic job of applying basic science principals to practice. After being away from the classrooms of medical school for awhile, one tends to become myopic and reliant upon specialty-specific pricipals. This book book helps dust off those cryptic vaults within the cerebrum and can really get the acetylcholine flowing.
One for the coffee table
I don't normally put my medical textbooks out for display, but I like to use this one as a conversation piece.Each chapter is well reasoned, concise, and suprisingly entertaining.The chapter entitled "Pharmacology of Hetastarch and Pentastarch" had me weeping. Med students - this book will help you fly through boards. Lay people - this book is a suprisingly good read. You know, I don't know this "Ron Faust," but I'm sure we would be instant friends if we ever met.I'd love to share a bottle of courvasier in front of a warm fire and discuss the finer points of anesthesiology with this man.My wife is sick of me talking about him. ... Wonderful book
When I first obtained this book, I read it cover to cover to learn what they didn't teach me in massage school.I now keep it in my office and use it as a reference for helping my clients understand their health conditions.It is easy to understand and gives many alternative healing methods for conditions not discussed in other books.

Great Resource for National Certification exam
The pathology guide was concise and much needed in studying for the national certification exam for massage.By studying this book, I found out that there was some stuff I didn't learn in massage school but needed for the national exam. Who would have known?
Buyer Beware- incorrect information
All you have to do is look at the referances the author sited for this book to be scared by it- few and unreliable.Please note that there are sections in here that are absolutely incorrect. If you just want to pass National cert. this is a great book.But if you honor your proffession and wish to know pathology - not just what National Cert asks you (often incorrectly).... helped me get a 252 on step 1
VERY great book...there were graphs on my step 1 that were straight outta this book....if ur on a systems based coursework use it...read it twice in prep for the boards...and u'll do great....do the questions on subjects u aren't clear on...
The Best Review Book for step 1
This is, hands down, the best review book for step 1.It is not wordy. There is not a lot of fluff. You can probably read the entire book in just a few days with good retention.Works well in combination with First Aid for boards.

Best of the BRS series
There are only two great BRS review books. This (physiology) and the behavioral BRS are well organized, concise, and complete.
