Trigger point mania
I love this book I have had a chance to use it a lot in my practice. It has tons of great information, be prepared a long read it is a medical manual so to speak and it can be a little on the long side, but if your up for it, It is a fantastic asset...

Excellent text
I found the information quite thorough.It is written in a user-friendly way, easy to understand.I bought this book because it was listed as a reference for the chiropractic practice part 2 exam.This book helped me with the locations of the trigger points.Sometimes the chiro boards like to ask questions on trigger points.However, Leonardi's book: National Board of Chiropractic Part II Study Guide: Key Review Questions and Answers and National Board of Chiropractic Part III Study Guide: Key Review Questions and Answers with Explanations are excellent for board exam preparation.These three books are needed for the part II and Part III of the boards.

The ultimate in drug-free pain relief!
As a Clinical Massage Therapist at a hospital, I use these books almost daily.In fact, I just ordered my second set. . . need more detail
I bought this book thinking it would be a more specicfic musculoskeletal companion to Braddom's generalized PM&R textbook. Unfortunately the treatment paragraphs (most important section from my perspective) for each topic were very thin and nonspecific.They were woefully inadequate for an attending or physiatry resident.I sent the book back which unfortunately meant I didn't get to critique the DVD.

This is a terrific book. Like the previous reviewer, I am deducting a point for the films not being what they could have been.Also, the print out exercise instructions were not as good as I hoped...but still useful...

Best radiology book on the market, great for nat'l boards
I graduated chiropractic school this year.I used this book in school and found this it to be filled with lots of info on soft and hard tissue pathology.The radiographs are excellent in this book.Every condition from spinal bifida occulta to fibrous dysplasia is described with the utmost detail.Every chapter has a helpful summary that summarizes all the important points of each condition.I also used this book to help me study for Part II, III and IV of the National Boards.However, if you really want a great book to study for the national boards do what my study group and I did, get the following: Yochum & Rowe Essentials
An essential text for all chiropractic and medical students as well as practicing doctors.Useful write-ups on hundreds of conditions.Wonderful coverage of arthritides and tumors.Huge section on normals and a small section on positioning.The only place it's lacking is in chest and abdomen, and that's because it's a book on skeletal radiology.I couldn't do without it.

Excellent Rehab Book
This book is an excellent resource for any Certified Athletic Trainer, experienced or entry-level. Several rehab protocols are outlined for many common injuries seen in athletics as well as the general population. There is a general review of anatomy as well that proves helpful.

Okay, But...
This a good trigger point therapy workbook, complete with "rubberball" tools, but the problem is, once again, this therapy is being touted as the "be-all-end-all" approach to pain management and health.Trigger point is a modality, a bodywork modality, and needs to be recognized as such.Just as massage, reflexology,and shiatsu are modalities, there needs to be a line drawn so people don't confuse this with a health book.Gangi's book does much better in defining our path to balanced health, and also redefines therapies such as this one so people aren't confused or misled. High on the list because it's used in massage schools, but not the best for people wanting to find the cause of their pain, and then dealing with it.

A Useful Book for Me
The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook is founded on Travell and Simons' research, but it's Travell and Simons LITE.Sixteen-hundred pages of difficult medical language have been reduced to a concise, easy-to-read 323 pages, while retaining all the essentials of trigger point science.
'Trigger Happy'

Simply the Best
I regard this as the best single text in radiology, and it's one of two that I use on a daily basis. I only bought it because someone stole my last one.

Not the most in depth source for MSK radiology but a great overview of important topics and their MRI findings.

Why can't all radiology books be written like this.I just wish that authors in other fields of radiology can write books like this. A Must For Design Engineers
This book covers all the fundamental issues related to bolts and bolted joints. It is very easy to read, and does not go too deeply into technical subjects, but gives the reader a full appreciation for the issues involved.As a materials engineer I appreciated the section on bolting materials. Asa design engineer, I found the sections on designing bolted joints veryhelpful. As Plato expressed long ago, the wiser you are, the less yourealize you know. Very Disappointed
Like the comment of some reviewers we see on line, there are many inaccuracies in the text as well as mistakes especially when it comes to anatomy.
Miller Review of orthopaedics
A good text for an overview of key concepts to know...will need a color atlas for better pictures though.Through coverage of most topics of interest for residents, and a good review for the OITE

Excellent review text, poor proofreading by the editors
Miller and co. have the unenviable task of compressing all of orthopaedics into a concise text for review. Remarkably so, they have improved on an already invaluable resource for residents and practicing orthopods alike. Given the number of syntax errors and content inconsistencies (see hand section) it appears that they may have rushed this edition to print, thus the "4 stars" ranking. A TRUE GOD SEND
This is one THE best books I have ever read about Lupus. As a Lupus sufferer, it is important to know aspects of this illnesses. This book goes from the diagnostic phaze to the definition of and the treatment of Lupus. It is very detailed and concise in its approach. Doctor Wallace must be one heck of a rheumatologist because he took very complex subject matter and made it coherent for the average American. This book is filled with information on various treatments for Lupus, a prolifera of testing procedures and an explanation of co exsisting autoimmune diseases. Any individual with Lupus, their families, physicians and social workers should have this truly well constructed text!
A God Send
This book is one of the best out there on Lupus.Mr. Wallace disects the disease into many parts because Lupus had many frustrating facets to it.After reading this book, I am going to talk to my doctor who does not think that I have Lupus, because I don't fit neatly into a box.I can't wait to tell this doctor that my last blood test showed the anitphospholipid levels were extremely high.I noticed it, he didn't.Thank you Mr. Wallace for naming the symptoms, and the cause of it.My "gut feeling" was right.

worth a buy if you do not mind typos
Clinical Application of Neuromuscular Techniques is an alternative to Travell's Trigger Point Manual if you do not do TP injections. It has great pictures, well explained treatment techniques (if you are up to date with your anatomy and medical terms) and lots of references. The disadvantage are typos (the editor must have had a bad day and was unable to write the German words for the references right, but also some English words are off!) Parts of the text are repeated in the book twice, what I thought is unnecessary and only adds to the number of pages but not the quality of content.

Great book for the money!
I'm an Advanced Practitioner of Massage Therapy and find this book VERY helpful.The Muscle Energy Techniques (M.E.T.s) are explained very thoroughly, and the accompanying drawings, and or pictures, are very helpful.While familiar with the M.E.T.s, having this book as a reference for all the upper body muscles, and their positioning for the best M.E.T. applications, is very rewarding. I'd recommend this book highly to anyone that has a basic understanding of the therapeutic aspects of massage and M.E.T.s. Clinical Application of Neuromuscular Techniques - Vol. I
This is a really clearly written, concise book, with drawings and pictures of muscle positions, trigger points, etc.I bought the Jane Travell Myofascial Pain and Dysfunction Books before this one came out, and for the money wish I had bought the Clinical Application of Neuromuscular Tech. Book.Unless you are a Physician, who wants to inject the patient's trigger points with a saline solution, and then you better be very exact in your aim with the needle, I think the Clinical Application of Neurom. Tech. Book is a much more practical, useful, hands on,straight forward book that addresses all the trigger points, origins and insertions of the muscles in a very user friendly way.Until this book came out, Jane Travell's was the only great reference guide; but what patient really likes injections?Now this book surpasses Dr. Travells, in that all the material in it is useful and usable.Can't wait for Vol. II, Lower Body, to come out. ... Diagnosis Unknown
It's no wonder fibromyalgia is so difficult to diagnose because of all the overlapping and/or symptoms of so many other diseases and problems.I thought the areas on choosing the right doctor were very good.One thing that was left out for self-treating someone with fibromyalgia was the use of the Theracane.My daughter who has fibromyalgia has said that she couldn't live without her Theracane because she can reach the pressure/trigger points and massage them herself, which seems to give her temporary relief from pain.(I have nothing to do with Theracane...its sale or promotion.)The book is very enlightening for uninformed family and friends of those who have this terrible syndrome.

Very useful
If you have lot of time to read, yes, this book is a MUST. But if you have 40 exams plus practices plus meetings plus, plus, plus.....Kuby is a good option. Anyway, never trust only in a single book.

I love the illustrations in the text
Good Resource
This book is a handy book for students and doctors a like on the subject of spinal pain and related symptoms assocaited with the spine. Detail chapters on imaging and cause and effect of spinal conditions and Dx process. Highly recommended, also recommend the Backsmart Fitness Plan by Dr. Adam Weiss, a complete full body workout that patients can understand and perform.
