Must read, for Nurse Practitioners & students
Great book which provides definitions and state-by-state breakdowns of important concepts, such as collaboration, prescriptive authority and SCAs.

2nd edition
I found Carolyn Buppert's second edition of Business Practice and Legal Guide to be very helpful. The additional chapters are useful for my practice and for research on a state wide level. I would recommend this book to nurse practitioners and students of the profession. It is proving to be a valuable resource for improving NP practice in Alabama. Be sure to get the second edition (2003/2004)as the first was published in 1995.

Information is outdated
As a grad student interested in starting my own practice upon graduation, I found this book to be useless. It has been reprinted by another publishing company and its original copyright date is 1999. Between then and now - 2004 - a lot of things have changed.Therefore, I would recommend that anyone who requires current information should look elsewhere.This is a very expensive book as is not helpful at all!!! ... Well-Written Text for Beginners
I'm taking my first biostatistics class with W. Daniel's Biostatistics text.It's a good book, but I think it's for more advanced statistics students.Munro's text is more suitable for beginners who have never taken any statistics class.It explains the basic but important statistical concepts in plain English without using much mathematics.Very well written and easy to understand.The exercises at the end of each chapter are well picked. They are short, yet helpful for reviewing the important concepts that have just been covered.

Statistical Methods for Health Care Research
A very well-written and helpful statistics book. It was required reading for a course in Quantitative Nursing Research last semester. Overall, the concepts such as t-tests, correlation and regression were explained in relatively simple terms. Examples with answers were found at the end of each chapter and the book came with a data disk. This was the most user-friendly statistics book that I have used so far!

Great book
I had a chance to review this book. I think the authors can make us much better understand, particularly one who is about to learn the concept of statistics. You can apply this book with the SPSS program in order to interpret the results. Anyway, I still like the calculation parts which areremoved in this edition (3rd) compared with the last one. Outstanding
Excellent analysis regarding the troubles that plague the nursing profession. Problem is - how to fix it? I'm not sure we nurses can tolerate the poor working conditions much longer...

While of benefiit to nurses everywhere in just reminding us we are not alone, this book also reminds us how we may be our own worst enemy in promoting change.
Australian nurse' reflection on a valuable text.
As I read Suzanne Gordon's account of nurses in todays world of cost cutting health care I could not help but admire her insight. While she is primarily a journalist her observations are so much of that of the nurse clinician trying to be there for the patient. Situation at my work place is identical to that of most hospitals Suzanne speaks of. This book is in the library at the university of which I am a graduate student. As an experienced nurse I would like to urge nurses entering the profession to read this volume and take heed before it is too late to make a difference.

Excellent Textbook
The textbook is required for my doctoral studies in nursing. It is an excellent resource and I highly recommend it to any graduate or doctoral students.

This is a classic book on the construction of theory. It is very helpful for the novice graduate student who is starting to get used to the language and world of theory. It provides foundational material on theory development and utilization in practice and research. This book also serves as a ready reference for "seasoned" nurses when reflecting on theory development and modification.

I hope every nurse reads this
I was inspired to become a nurse by stories of the "lady with the lamp" but it took more than 30 years before I found this book and learned just why Florence Nightingale deserved to be my inspiration.The pictures alone are worth the price of this book, and the story too is well told.

Profound and inspiring
