Excellent Reference Book - For Lawyers???
I work in law not medicine.I bought Taber's because of the many personal injury cases with which I was involved.People talk about legal language - nothing compares to medical terminology.
Great staple for anyone in the medical field
Taber's Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary is all encompassing, defining the simplest to the most complex terms. To be honest, however, I rarely even open it because it came with access to their website for a 6 mo trial. Since I do most of my work (I'm still in school) on the computer, it's much easier for me to run a search than go get the book. Potential buyers: this is more of a "dictionary" than encyclopedia. You're not going to get long explanations but short definitions, otherwise it would be volumes and volumes long. One more thing: it's a very pretty book - well bound; having it on your book shelf makes you look like you actually might know what you're doing!! ... Read more

Used Online School Books
This book was in excellent condition from the hard cover to the pages in between.There was no highlighting in the book.No one had written notes in this book. I was truly delighted when I thumbed through the book.Now that I have had time to work in this book I ever more so delighted.This was my first time buying school books online and amazon will be used again in the near future. I will also recommend my friends to do the same.Thank you Amazon.

Better than nothing-- but buy it "used"
This book was written to help you prepare for the LPN pre-entrance exam, and is divided into Math, Vocabulary, and Science sections.There are plenty of practice questions for each section as well as 3 complete practice tests.Answers are explained.The reviews are very basic and assume you already have a strong background in Math/Science.You may have to supplement the review with other material, as I did, say, for Biology.

Nursing care plan
THIS BOOK IS A WASTE OF MONEY!!!!!
Little or no help
This book offers little or no help for beginning students like me.It's very disorganized and the CD-ROM is even more useless than the book itself.

Great text for CNA class
I am currently studying to become a CNA in the state of Maine.This is the textbook and workbook we are using.I have found this text to be very thorough and I enjoy it very much.I would recommend it to any CNA or CNA student.

A great educational resource
As a new nursing instructor - I found this book extremely helpful and informative.I have used the outlines as a guidance and I have used the exercises for critical thinking examples and practice in the classroom.I would highly recommend this book to any and all nurse educators.

I have purchased two other review books for the NCLEX and I can say, without a doubt, this is the BEST!This book covers everything you need to know.There are practice tests with answers after each chapter so you can review what you have studied and determine if you feel confident enough to go on, or if you need some additional time on the subject.The CD is very beneficial as well.You can take quizes, study tests and even a 100 question exam.The exams are timed, so you learn to pace yourself for the "real thing".I cannot say enough how impressed I am with this study guide.If you are still a nursing student, this book can be a real asset when studying for exams as well!!

Content is Worth The Price!
One of the few NCLEX-PN review books that goes above and beyond for studying for the boards.I used this book to study for my finals in Maternal-Child and received one of the highest scores in that class.Other than using Del Mar's Publishing NCLEX-PN review CD, ATI Books (which you can't buy online at any bookstore but at ATI) and this book, you can't beat the value or the incredible content!I even used the older edition to pass the 2006 boards!Buy it used, doesn't matter what it looks like--it's the content that's precious!

Excellent Book for PN Students
This is a very thorough book full of NCLEX questions for the PN student.You will be fully prepared when taking board exams.I found it to have a variety of difficulties in questions, ranging from easy to extremely hard, but that's what is needed to pass the board exam.I very highly recommend purchasing this book if you want to be ready to pass the boards.

Not only does this book help you with the review for the n-clex, it is invaluable to you while you are still in the nursing program. Fast and convenient
