Brilliant!
The Hakomi Method, created by Ron Kurtz, is a beautifully constructed experiential therapeutic process which incorporates the best of the last 100 or so years of psychotherapeutic study. It integrates Taoist and Buddhist Principles with Western Theory and the Body-Centered Wisdom of Alexander Lowen, John Pierrakos, Hector Prestera and others.I've been a therapist for over 16 years and the Hakomi Method has now become the main influence inmy work. Textbook for Pharmacy Technician Program
If you have never worked in a pharmacy before and want to pass the pharmacy technnician certification exam, then you need more than just a certification review book. You will also need a textbook that explains comprehensively pharmacy laws and the operating procedures of a typical pharmacy. Because it isn't a certification review, be aware that it doesn't have enough practice problems. Overall, it is an excellent textbook to use with a workbook.

WOULDN'T BE BAD IF THEY COULD GET IT RIGHT
The information presented is fairly easy to understand, interesting, andseems to be thorough.So what's the problem?I have to say, I would absolutely love the textbook and its corresponding workbook if it wasn'tfor one truely frustrating aspect - there are way too many errors.It'sincredible!Here's an example - a question regarding roman numeralconversions (pg 38 wkbk)- what is 14 in roman numerals?well, anybodywho's gone through grade school could tell you it's XIV - the answer keytells you it's CIV (104!!).How about this one (pg 85 txt) - convert 1mgto g:ok, i'm thinking - DUH - .001g - correct answer, according to theanswer key is .011g -- Now, this is not quite a big deal when it's veryeasy to tell the book is wrong (yet, again) - but then, when you get intomore difficult calculations and you can't trust the answer key, it becomesvery frustrating.When you take into account the fact that you've spentover $60 for the text and workbook and you can't count on the informationto be correct it becomes enraging.There are also a plethora of idiotictypos to furthur insult you for sending these people your money.Example(pg 108 txt) convert 120 mcg to mg - answer according to the key:120 mcg= 0.12 mcg - that's 0.12 MCG not MG.Or, how about his - convert 50% to adecimal.Answer according to the key:50/100.Now, the last time Ichecked that was something called a fraction - a decimal looked more likethis: .50 - This isn't even the tip of the iceberg.I just have onequestion for Morton Publishing Co...Do you guys happen to employ anyonethere called an EDITOR? I just hope to God you all don't have anything todo with the answer keys the PTCB is holding in their possession.If youdo, I quit now.

It did the job
I've been out of Medical School a long time. This pointed out what topics I needed to pursue in more detail in order to bring myself up to speed.

A lot of problems will be solved in later revisions
The index for this book .... For example, there are a fair number of examples of the epoxidation reaction, but not a single pointer toward that in the index of the book. And much the same thing for other types of reactions. Professor Silverman does it again!
This book is an excellent resource for undergraduate and graduate students studying enzyme chemistry and organic mechanisms. Prof. Silverman does a fine job of giving many different examples of enzyme mechanisms. By notfocusing totally on one kind of enzyme or catalysis, he succeeds inpainting a broad picture for the reader, while not sacrificing content. Easy Self-Healing Energy Knowledge
I have a feeling that if everyone was aware of and practiced Jin Shin Jyutsu, Doctors might have no patients.
EVERY home should have a copy
I do not have "healing hands," a green thumb or luck with most such techniques. In the six months since I bought this book, however, I have managed to clear one upset stomach (on an airplane, no less!), one fainting spell, one bladder problem, and, most recently (and most gratefully), a case of depression.

Ground Breaking Research; Vital Information
This is a book that can be life changing.It's extremely solid, clearly written, for the lay person,and fully documented, and it concerns Dr. Stoll's claims as to the benefits of taking Omega-3 oil supplements.It was recommended to me by a Nurse Practitioner at the Hospital Clinic where I go for regular medical care, and it has caused a revolution in my life.We live in a wilderness of self help and health care books that can confuse us and numb us with their contradictory claims.But be assured this book is a thorough and brilliant record of the results of actual medical research. Guide to Spyragics
Originally published in Italian in 1985, this classic work deals with the spyragic process, by which, through separation, purification and recombination, a spyragist (parachemist, or alchemist, take your pick) enhances and amplifies the essential and intrinsic effects of an herb. While incorporating quite a bit of ayurvedic philosophy, it's still a text firmly rooted in Western alchemical techniques and practice, and walks the aspiring student through the spyragic process, step by step, along with herbal planetary correspondence tables which go quite a bit beyond the over-simplified Cabbalistic correspondences of the current New Age stream of thought.
alchemy or spagyric?
I havent read this book, but I am very doubful, if this really about alchemy. I heard, that laboratory equipment, that author proposes, is very expensive and thats not a case of alchemy. Alchemy in its essence need very simple and nonexpensive instruments. There exist fundamental difference between spagyrics and alchemy and that fact many people dont realize.

Worthy of your time
I recently began taking some natural medicines along with my husband, so I thought I would try making my own. Though I am still in the early stages, I feel confident that The Practical Handbook of Plant Alchemy has given me a solid base from which to start.

Great for a basic book
This book is a great review of scalars, waveforms, etc.It does NOT cover physiology, but has great images and good legends for the figures. Small enough to fit in your pocket or slip into your bag -- much less bulky than a textbook.And cheap!

Frustrating and distressing.
This is easily one of the most difficult to use textbooks I've ever had the misfortune of studying.
Excellent guide for the Pharmacy Technician Exam
Concise and to the point. Bolded terms and generous sectioning of paragraphs in chapter make for very dynamic reading and in turn a better retaining of the literature.

Not the most effective writer
First, it's only fair to say that I found this book interesting in many aspects.It does add some knowledge and understanding to the field of hypnosis, however, the author is not very effective at illuminating his ideas.On the one hand, he writes as though his audiance all have PhD's, because he does not do very well at defining his terms, or elaborating on his concepts.On the other hand, he does not provide any information of the efficacy of the questionaires he provides that an individual with a professional degree would find useful in vetting his theoretical views.
Great how-to book for therapy hypnosis
An outstanding reference for novice and professional hypnotists alike. This book has the most up-to-date techniques on hypnosis and includes several methods of induction and some very practical scripts for conducting hypnotherapy sessions ranging from weight-loss to stopping smoking to dealing phobias and traumatic experiences. It even covers getting individuals to recall blocked memories or increasing the level of detail recalled in memories. This is written from a very professional clinical perspective. Several tests and evaluations are also given to test what type of hypnosis your subject is most susceptible to.

The Prime Text for Hypnosis
This book is an excellent guide to modern hypnosis. The discovery of physical, emotional and intellectual suggestibility by Dr. Kappas has made it easy for therapists to cause their suggestions to patients to be far more productive. Helped others as well as myself.
I first purchased this book in the fall of 2002, and proceeded to travel across the country in 2003 to accompany my sister to receive NAET treatments for both of us. Using the techniques, we have been able to help other people to understand the healing benefits of both the NAET treatments for allergies and the Living Pain Free treatments to save from many trips to a doctor or the hospital. Many have requested their own copies of this book, which I was able to acquire for them.
Well illustrated and lots of symptoms covered
I recently purchased both this book and "Say Good-Bye to Your Allergies" by the same author.This is the much better book - actual information on treating particular symptoms, rather than an extended apology for her NAET system of allergy treatment.The only thing that I really found more distracting than helpful was the use of medical terms when navigating to particular pressure points.I've read several books on accupressure, and this is the only one that requires a decent knowledge of 'Gray's Anatomy' to understand much of what she is saying.The illustrations go a ways to helping that, but I couldn't escape the feeling that the author was trying to make sure that readers knew she REALLY is a medically trained doctor. This is an excellent self-help book. Page "58" is very helpful to overcome immediate allergic reaction temporarily. On the very first visit, Dr. Mala taught me how to use these points. Every morning when I wake up I massage these points before I get out of bed. That gives me tremendous energy all day along.During my initial NAET treatments, I was advised to massage these points every two hours.
