Avoid!
'Blueprints Medicine' is absolutely not enough for internal medicineclerkship rotation and for the USMLE step 2 CK - without any doubt, it's one of the worst (together with 'Blueprints Surgery') of the Blueprints series.
Pretty good. Use along with other books depending on purpose.
This is a fairly decent book to read during medical school medicine rotations.It is comprehensive but I found that it did not include enough detail on many topics. You will without a doubt need some other sources during your rotation."Washington Manual" and Ferri's "Practical Guide to The Care of the Medical Patient" are both excellent.I found Ferri's book to be more helpful in terms of the organization, readability, and information.I was not at LSU, but came across the "LSU Notes." If you can find the "LSU Notes" in internal medicine, they are an excellent resource as well. The medicine "Pre-Test" book was helpful when studying for the shelf exam, although not all medical schools use those.
A Must for Your Medicine Rotation
If you want to learn internal medicine in a quick amount of time, pick up this book and read a chapter or two everyday. It's not that difficult. This is a must for you medicine rotation as it will allow you to get a breadth of knowledge relatively quickly. But in order to be a superstar you will need to read up from a serious reference book and/or UptoDate on your specific patients. You should do this for every rotation.

The best current kinetics book.
Bauer does an excellent job of explaining the basics and details of pharmacokinetics; this book is great guide for both students and practicing clinicians.Many pharmacokinetic residents and fellows live by this book and it came highly reccommended to me by experienced clinicians.

Nuts and bolts kinetics
As you read this text it becomes apparent that it was written by an in-the-trenches clinical pharmacist. It focuses on the practical application of pharmacokinetics in patient care. The text is very readable, written in an easy to follow style. The tables and illustrations are well presented, providing insight to the topic. There are chapters on aminoglycosides, vancomycin, digoxin, antiarrhythmics, anticonvulsants, cylcosporine, lithium, and theophylline. Each chapter contains practical step-by-step examples for both initial dosage determinations and serum level analysis.But you'll need to look elsewhere for pediatric pk information, application to peds is limited. ... A little disappointing
Anyone reading the title of this book might justifiably assume it was going to deal with the type of energy manifested in Qi Gong, EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), acupuncture, Quantum-Touch and many other energy therapies - subtle energy it is often called.

do not buy
this book is very poor. do not purchase. I am an intern pharmacist and it is in no way applicable to the practice of pharmacy. Having used this book, I have no better understanding of pharmacy law. I recommend the Weisman text for CA law, as it is a better book.

Awesome book!
I have always loved coconut but never knew how great it was for you. This is a wonderful book. I loved all the testimonials to each way it is used showing how others benifitted. I have already lost a little weight as well with what Bruce talks about. I loved the book and look forward to collecting all of his books. I also bought " cooking with coconut flour" another great book. :) Bruce is very talented to do so much research and still publish so many wonderful books. :)

Not useful to actually learn anything
I bought thsi book thinking it would have been a great purchase to just carry around (i.e. to work) so I can do practice questions when I had time.Well as I started in the biology section I found it very odd that a couple of the questions were repeated a couple of times.I don't see the point in trying to stretch out the number of questions in the book by repeating them.Another major problem I had which ultimately made me return the book was there were multiple questions with the wrong answer.I went into the store and showed them an example.The question asked which of the following molecules has the lowest molecular weight.First they gave the wrong answer as the correct choice, but the explination didn't even match up to the choice that was supposedly correct.I found multiple questions with incorrect answers and/or explinations thus brought the book back.If you don't know the answer to a question and are using the answer key to help you learn, this book sucks.I could not be confident in any of the answers to questions I didn't know based on knowing other answers were wrong.

Great purchase!
Having already taken the PCAT, this book is a great way to study without feeling overloaded.The questions aren't confusing and offer nicely detailed explanations.There are also plenty of review questions for each section.

Saunders Pharma ceutical Word Book
This Word Book is WONDERFUL, and definitely should be with anyone doing medical transcription!The format makes it very easy to locate drug names, and even note briefly what the drug is used for.
Excellent drug reference for Medical Transcriptionists
