The concepts in this book have strenghtened the loving care we provide at our hospice. Our patients and families love the angels of hospice who provide true sacred encounters.I would recommend this work to ANY healthcare organization committed to providing the best care imaginable.

How to Heal the Sick
This book kept me at the edge of my seat from start to finish. There is so much to learn from this book. This book is very thought & prayer provoking. I can not encourage you enough to read this book because it is so inspiring.

Faith Building, Faith Inspiring, Faithfully True
Coming from a Fundamental Baptist background, I was extremely skeptical about this book and the ideas in it.I must admit though when I reasoned with my spirit and not my mind, I could truly understand the Biblical relevance of healing and miracles for today!After applying the principles taught in this book, my husband's legs have grown to be even, his spine was straightened, my arms are now the same length, my spine has straightened, and my husband has administered healing to others as well.Excellent, excellent book.Read more

Good reference, not quite what I expected
It was probably my fault for not giving the book 5 stars.I was expecting a book that would be a little easier to use in practice.This book does a really good job of giving various physical exam tests.It has lots of good pictures and other graphics.My two complaints, and what bumped this book down to a 4 instead of a 5, is that it is a little too "all over the place" with the exam.I would have preferred a book that helped me to focus.In that respect, Cooper's Pocket Guide and Hoppenfeld's physical exam book are much better.Also, I would have liked to have some treatment sections in this book.Still, all in all it's a good buy.

Best Orthopedic Exam Reference Textbook
This is the best orthopedic exam textbook I've found. It has good illustrations, is very inclusive in its content, and is well organized. You could think of it as a sort of illustrated orthopedic examination encyclopedia. It's a bit burdensome to read (and carry) because of its inclusiveness nature. So don't think you'll be carrying this one in your pocket for each exam. However, you'll be glad you have it on your shelf for reference. Great work Magee! This one is well worth purchasing. Especially if you are thinking of, or can afford, only buying one orthopedic examination reference. Lastly, don't expect treatment therapies from this book. It is purely diagnostic.
Good book, not the best
I thought this was an excellent exam book.I preferred Hoppenfeld's book, though there is less info.Of all the ones I've read, the best is still Pocket Guide to Musculoskeletal Diagnosis.I think Magee's is better for a reference.Pocket Guide to MSK Dx is better for daily use. ... Read more

Great Derm Book!
This is a wonderful dermatology book! I just got it and can't put it down. Very comprehensive, clear, well-organized. Lots of pictures. Covers more material than Fitzpatrick, and much more clearly. As an internist, this book is perfect for me.

Easy to reference, easy to help treat
I'm a Physician Assistant student working in a busy military hospital.This book is absolutely wonderful if you're looking for a quick diagnosis and treatment to common skin diseases.It's easy to reference, there are diagrams showing lesion distribution as well as beautiful pictures of common presentations, and an easy-to-reference treatment section.This won't cover everything, and you'll have to use a more comprehensive derm book for "zebras", but on the whole it's an excellent reference book in a general care environment. ... The New Standard in EM Procedures
This book is extremely detailed and has great illustrations.I compared this book for many hours to Roberts & Hedges (R&H) 4th ed and this book blows it away.The entire procedure is fully explained (as in both books), but this book shows you numerous different locations and ways of getting the same procedure done.This seems to lack in R&H.Also, the illustrations are great.R&H uses mainly black and white photos from the 1970's/80's where the person was not even using gloves and there is a footnote in every picture to use gloves.I think R&H needs to use new updated pictures if they want to even compete with this book.The increased use of color, great illustrations with key landmarks, numerous charts, and ease of explanation make this book essential in any emergency physician's library. ... Great for first year residents and beyond
I purchased this book at the tail end of my first year and wish I had gotten it sooner.It is an awesome quick reference for conferences and sign-out.The descriptions of what to look for in a particular lesion are great.The differential diagnoses are a touch incomplete.However, for the differentials listed, an explanation of why the lesions are different is given.Another bonus is the fact that special stains are included for each lesion (my personal favorite). The book could be a bit more organized, but I think this will come with age.Overall I thinks it's a great book and a good buy (bordering on must buy) for the lost confused eyes of a first year resident.

Needs improvement
A direct quote (p. 866): Clinically, melanomas occuring on the sun-damaged skin of the face and presenting as large irregularly pigmented patches have been referred to as lentigo maligna melanoma. Required for the Pathology resident's bookshelf

First of all, don't get discouraged by the negative reviews because some of them (maybe most of them!) are clearly scientologist reviews. Inspirational and instructive
Mountains Beyond Mountains really helped me to understand the immense poverty faced by the people of Haiti. Paul Farmer's quest to provide these people the healthcare they deserve is an inspiration that should be required reading for young people or anybody leading a self centered and materialistic life. Americans need to be reminded of how fortunate they truly are and how we all take things like healthcare, housing, clean water and job availability for granted. My son "read" the audio book for his summer reading assignment and finished it in about one week. Highly recommended!

Very useful dermatopathology book
Wonderfull book, it has a summary table for each entity very useful for fast look, a lot of color images of great cuality and a text concise, precise and exact.

It took quite some time for me to choose a dermatopatholgy reference.
