Great introduction to body MRI
Siegelman's Body MRI book is one of the best MRI introduction out there. Great for the radiology resident who need a general MRI book that will cover a lot of ground on a lot of topic while staying thin and affordable. From there you will be able to build further with more advanced texts and published articles. Also, there are a lot of images and they are of good quality. You won't be asking yourselves "Am I seeing what is described in the caption?". Important facts are well organized in tables for a quick review of a chapter. I beleive this book is a must have; have fun.

Body MRI ---Recomended
It is an excellent book for residents. It has the information needed for for all the subjects including Breast MRI. The author makes an effort to explain WHY thinks looks the way they do rather than listing imaging characteristics. Excellent TCM Source
This is an excellent book for TCM practitioners. It covers a wide variety of diagnostic techniques all included in one book (rather than having to buy 20 short books with similar info). From face diagnosis, to nail diagnosis, to in depth pattern recognition (for thin necks to swollen ears to stomach aches), Maciocia has included it all. I found the part about using palm lines to show tendencies towards certain types of diseases very interesting. There are colour plates in the back of the book that show examples of body type, tongues, and skin conditions.

Love your patienys
Incredible!!! This booked has really changed my life. I am a Paramedic and soon to be Nurse and this book has really helped me in my patient skills. I highly recommend this book to anybody in healthcare.

Enhanced for the reader with extensive references
Love Your Patients!: Essential Behaviors That Enrich The Lives Of Patients & Caregivers by Dr. Scott Louis Diering (a practicing emergency medicine physician in Maryland, where he is also a Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Maryland medical school) persuasively argues that it is love, respect, and humility which lie at the heart of the successful medical caretaker whether that caretaker be a doctor, a nurse, or a paraprofessional. This thesis is wonderful illustrated by a series of true life stories. Of special note is the final section titled "The Art of Agape". Enhanced for the reader with extensive references and a "user friendly" index, Love Your Patients! should be mandatory reading for the students of every medical school and nursing college in the country.

Great introduction to Applied Kinesiology
Robert Frost's AK manual is lean and to the point. I hope every nurse reads this
I was inspired to become a nurse by stories of the "lady with the lamp" but it took more than 30 years before I found this book and learned just why Florence Nightingale deserved to be my inspiration.The pictures alone are worth the price of this book, and the story too is well told.

Profound and inspiring
Dr. Barbara Dossey, founder of the American Holistic Nursing Association, has written an inspiring and insightful biography of Florence Nightingale that has much to teach us about being bold, tough minded, task oriented, creative, passionate andcompassionate.Nightingale conscientiously developed the strongly focused conceptual, organizational and networking skills that contributed to her formidable accomplishments in the fields of nursing, housing, sanitation and statistics and did it all despite chronic illness, criticism, sexism and other major life challenges.Most of all, we learn that Nightingale was a visionary and mystic, whose life story challenges all of us to know, accept and realize our God-given purpose in this world.

A Most Inspiring Book
I knew of Florence Nightingale's nursing activities before reading this book but had no idea of the extent of her self-discipline, dedication and accomplishments.She was a systems analyst, administrator, networker and mystic who devoted her life to doing God's work.She was also a prolific writer of books, lay reports, pamphlets and thousands of letters.The author provides a wealth of background material describing the historic times and placesassociated with Florence Nightingale. Informative, butSEXIST
The authors do not hesitate to tell the reader that two of the four women that were photographed for the section on breast cancer (half) were in complete denial of their condition.They remark that both women presented to the clinic with horrific and obvious cancers that they supposedly only noticed the "day before."While denial is an important aspect of breast cancer (and many other conditions), the authors limit the discussion of denial to women only.When I read the male genatalia chapter and saw the horrific lessions pictured, there was no mention that any of the men had "just noticed" that angry chancre or those boiling warts.I would think there must be some psychological issue such as denial at work in the fellows that were photographed as well since thier conditions were also so advanced. However, the authors do not mention it.Funny, huh?It's a good book anyway, but the authors need to check themselves.(...)

Better than Bates!
Im disappointed that I did not have this book sooner in my student career.For the last 2 years we have been using Bates and quite frankly Bates is okay for the most part but it leaves out details as to why the test is done.
Good thorough book on the art of physical diagnosis
Best book I've read about physical diagnosis.Even though the book is long, it is actually a quick read, including numerous useful tables and graphes.What sets this book apart from the rest lies in the explanation of underlying pathophysiology of various signs and findings thus making them easy to remember.The CD ROM is also useful and quick if one simply want to learn the basics of physical diagnosis.This book is a good reference because it's so comprehensive compared to others. ... I will buy it
I am a medical student taking my radiology elective (finally) in the spring of my fourth year.Our department loaned the book to us during the rotation.I've found it to be one of those few books that I will actually purchase to have on my shelf at home (and I'm NOT going into radiology).It is written in a pleasing, conversational manner.The illustrations are of high quality.The discussions are at just the right level for an introduction to radiology.And there are many little "problems" presented throughout the text for the student to puzzle over.The answers are either listed in back, or turn up later in the "conversation" within a few pages.Although it seems long (over 500 pp?), it is mostly pictures.I highly recommend the book.

Look no further to master arrhythmia recognition
Arrhythmia recognition is the toughest part of EKG interpretation. Most books that teach it do so by illustrating each arrhythmia with a strip or two, usually using ideal examples. This approach leaves the reader ill prepared to recognize the variations that crop up in practice. The philosophy of this book is "you can't really know an arrhythmia unless you see it over and over".

Highly recommended
This book provides a very easy to read, well-illustrated, and thorough approach to EKG's.I have tried to use other EKG books in the past and found them too superficial & piecemeal or too boring & dense/text-oriented.First of all the book is filled with hundreds of full-page "real EKG's" that are used as the examples for the teaching points. There are also many color digrams.I like how this book gives a nice step-by-step approach, very easy to read.I aslo like how it has different "levels" so that if I want to dive in deeper and learn more subtle/advanced interpretations, it's all right there, with the basic level info next to it for quick review.I like how even this book's "basic/intro" level covered much more practical material than other books...when I first went through it, even after only getting through half of the intro level, I finally understood what is J point, and what atrial enlargement looks like.

Excellent 12 Lead ECG Book for All Levels
This is by far the best book for learning and refining 12-lead ECG interpretation skills that I have read. The material is structured so that it can be used as a classroom text or as a self-guided teaching tool.Within the book, Garcia and Holtz divide the material into three clearly marked levels from a basic review of cardiac physiology through an advanced level of ECG interpretation.The text is written in an easy-to-read, conversational style and the graphics and ECG tracings are some of the best I've ever seen in this kind of book. On top of this, Garcia and Holtz have included plenty of useful diagnostic pearls throughout each chapter, making this a highly readable and educational book.I use levels one and two to teach my paramedic students the fundamentals of 12-lead ECG interpretation.I also recommend Garcia and Miller's "Arrhythmia Recognition: The Art of Interpretation" (ISBN 0763722464) as a rhythm interpretation reference.

Excellent resource for care givers!
In reviewing this book, I discovered it is an excellent resource not only for professional care providers, but for family members as well. There are very detailed examples of specific activities to do on a daily basis, and could be easily adapted for varying levels of dementia.

Wonderful book
By giving you an understanding of how the person with alzheimers views their world, this book helps the caregiver make life a little easier, happier, and more meaningful. It also reduces the stress and frustration of the caregiver because you gain knowledge of how to handle situations that before were a struggle.

Excellent for anyone touched by dementia
Jolene Brackey spoke at the nursing home where I work with patients with dementia. She is an incredible speaker and author. This book has so many wonderful ideas for nursing home workers and people who have loved ones with dementia. It is very reader-friendly and easy to understand. Jolene includes many real life examples to illustrate her ideas. She has a sense of humor and a sense of compassion that radiates with every chapter.
