Partial Differential Equations and Boundary Value Problems
I think this book is Possibly the best Mathematic book for Engineer I've ever read. This is due to the fact that the material is so much clear and the examples are so easy to follow. The book's explanation is precise and accurate. The exercises on every chapter are helpful. I practise almost most of the exercise problems. In fact, I score an "A" on the first Test. I will recommend it to everyone without hesitation.

Initial impressions
Nakhle:Just a quick note to thank you for your book! It arrived Thursday, and I've been reading it and doing the exercises both on paper and in Mathematica 3.0. After a quick review of the whole book and a thorough reading of the first 70 pages so far, I can say I just love it! IfI'd only had a book like this in college and graduate school I'd havebecome a much better electrical engineer. Yours is one of the bestexpositions of both Fourier series and partial differential equations I'veused. Although I haven't gotten very far into the boundary value problemsand the orthogonal functions areas of the book yet, my initial reviewindicates they will be excellent also. I am enjoying your book immensely,and I thank you very much for it. I'll update this with a more thoroughreview when I have a chance to finish the book, but I wanted to share myinitial impressions so others might weigh them into their own decisions toget this excellent book.

A clear introduction to PDEs, Fourier series
This text not only provides a simple and easy-to- read-the-first-time guide to solving PDEs with Fourier series, it also is chock-full with all the necessary details and includes many interesting problems.I took acourse out of this book as a sophomore in college and found it veryinteresting and useful.The style and difficulty is very similar to atypical undergraduate ordinary differential equations book, except this isbetter organized.Read more

Decoding the Ethics Code : A Practical Guide for Psychologists
I found this book very easy to read. It described each code very well and provided examples both what is right and what is wrong. Great way to learn the ethics code and become familiar with it.

Essential reading for psychotherapists
Decoding the Ethics Code is must reading for psychotherapists from all the mental health guilds. Celia Fisher was a member of the APA committee that drafted the 2002 revision of the Ethical Code, and there is nothing like going to the source. The book is readable and informative, and helps to make sense of the new HIPAA regulationsNo ethical practitioner can afford to be without this resource.

Decent
This book does a pretty good job of explaining the basic concepts. But it doesn't seem to offer a complete coverage of the topics covered in the book.

Excellent for Physicist
We recently purchased this book and I find it extremely well written and useful. I would call it super for a physicist doing medical imaging research. The book reads like a reference text for a researcher. There are no cartoons or homework problems. The second edition is very up to date. The book could use some references to advanced information sources as it is a bit short on physics/mathematics details.

suitable for teaching medical physicist wannabes now
I currently own the first edition of this book, and after flipping throug this new expanded 2nd edition, I'll be upgrading soon.The first book is an excellent text to use for teaching radiology residents the principles of medical imaging.Now, this second edition with greatly expanded content and pictures looks like it would be suitable for teaching a course to medical physics students.All sections appear to be significantly expanded with the additional detail needed for medical physicists.Still excellent for residents, but might go into a little more detail than they need. ... You will need!
I spent a lot of money in shipping cost's finding a good ECG book! Nothing impressive about this book, which is why I sent it back. Don't be fooled by the title! You will to find another book if you want to understand ECG's.

Great Review Book
My initial exposure to EKGs was via Dubin.That was a great starter.But a couple of months later, I had to relearn everything again and this book really helped.Each chapter is divided into subheadings.Each subheading gives you the big picture.Then the whole chapter concludes with a recap: an EKG for each subheading.It was great.I checked it out from my library and did not buy it (if youcan, I suggest you buy it).Happy learning!

The Best EKG Book Around!
I'm a medical student, and this is the best EKG book I've found for learing EKGs relevant for students.Probably all you need for med school exams are heart blocks and MIs, but this book has all the major stuff, bundle branch/fasicular/hemi -blocks, SVTs, etc.The best part about this book is that its NOT just pattern recognition like other EKG books.It tells you why a rhythm is narrow vs wide, what's actually going on in that re-entrant rhythm, why that block looks the way it does by relating it to what's actually going on with the current, which makes you remember it better.Basically, if you just want to memorize some shapes, go use Dubin.But if you want to understand why EKGs make the patterns they do for various pathologies, then you MUST buy this book. ... An Essential Handbook
I am an Illinois legal aid attorney and owner of Southwest Medicals, an online medical supply and equipment business.If you are planning on providing home healthcare for a famiy member, you need this helpful book.The cost saving tips are especially useful. I also recommend the American Medical Association's Guide to Home Caregiving by Angela Perry.

Easy to read-full of tips
This book was very easy to read and contained a lot of practical tips on a wide variety of subjects. I liked the tips on how to make items yourself, cutting costs on things like hair washing aids and for making your home safe and navigable. The simple illustrations make the instructions easy to follow and the abundance of listed resources for more information and support was a nice bonus.

This is the book to have
This is the book to have for anyone that has to write care plans.We all bought different books so we could share and this was by far the best out of at least 10 different books.It has everything we needed except a section on cultural sensitivity.If it had that you could not need any other book to write a care plan in school.

Great reference!!
This book is fantastic for its interventions and rationales.They are relatively straight-forward and make it easier in preparing a care plan.The book is divided into sections: Adult Health, Child Health, Maternal-Neonatal Health, Geriatric and Psych.There is an appendix in the back of the book listing many medical diagnoses and the related nursing diagnoses.I would highly recommend this book to any nursing student!

A must have!

I am reviewing medicine for fun

Good Questions, Poor Step 3 Review
I used this Q-Bank book to review for step 3 along with Crush.The questions in this book are good and reflective of the information covered in Crush.Problem is, the questions are in no relation to what was asked on Step 3.I thought I was going to do well on Step 3, I recieved 225 on Step 1, and 230 on Step 2, but somehow by memorizing crush and this Kaplan Q-Bank, I managed to do poorly on Step 3.I was very disappointed on test day to realize that none of the questions from Kaplan even remotely resembled the questions on Step 3. ... One of the better books on comparing specialties
I would recommend this book to the undecided medical students in their 3rd year- I bought this early in my 4th year after having read Anita's book on Choosing a Medical Specialty, and still being uncertain. I was trying to talk myself out of Gen Surg... Ultimately, a book is not going to make the decision for you, but it is good to be informed and it helps to either reinforce what your gut instinct is telling you. Try to borrow a friends or buy a used copy- but it's definitely worth a read!

Great advise for the single med student
This book has great advise in it for the single med student.However, if you happen to be married and a parent most of the advise is far too time consuming and impractical.

Very helpful guide.
I found this book very helpful.It started by going through the PA profession, and then got into how to actually go about making this a career.It explains each step of the application process, and gives very helpful tips.Overall, this was a great book.I would highly recommend it for anyone considering entering the PA profession.

Good but outdated
I found the information about interviewing helpful but much of the information about the application itself was outdated.The book was written before CASPA was widely used.Also, the author provides a personal website and encourages readers to contact him with any questions, but this website is no longer around.This book is a good cheap purchase, but no substitute for advice from current students.

This is THE book for any aspiring PA prospect!!
I purchased this book the summer of 2005 to begin my "preparations" for entry into the 2006 application cycle. I had aquired all of my prerequisites for the program I was interested in and wanted all of the ammunition I could get my hands on in preparation for the interview process. This book gave me perfect guidance in all aspects of the application process. And if I can do it, OH MY!, anyone can do it!! (If you only knew me ten years ago!) Although I do have a few years of medical experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist under my belt, I applied to only ONE school this year and I just received the call last week for the acceptance! My first go round and I couldn't have asked for more. As competetive as most medical programs are this book, I believe, gave me THE edge to succeed. I can't praise the book enough for all of the insights this book includes, From written preparations to speaking patterns and interview scenerios. Another worthless book!
Another ECG book with terrible illustrations of ECG rhythms that are hard to read. They are in black & white and fuzzy! This book is also over-priced! This is also another ECG book that is witten like a childrens book! The only good part of this book is that it has flash-cards on ECG rhthyms and cardiology meds. Please don't waste your money!
