A Must-Read For Caregivers!
Caregiving usually doesn't happen gradually. Families are often thrust into the situation because of a crisis, without any experience on how to manage the overwhelming stress, responsibilities, legalities, and medical aspects. Gary Barg has done an excellent job sorting it all out with 'The Fearless Caregiver', guiding the reader through the maze. Very easy to read, motivating, empowering, and highly recommended! A Must-Read for all Caregivers!
It is about time that someone tackled the issues that caregivers face.It can often be a lonely and confusing time.I was a caregiver for my mother a few years ago and looked everywhere for a book like this.I needed something to walk me through all of the things I didn't understand.This a well-crafted, easy to read and understand book that all caregivers should read.I wish it had been available five years ago!I recommend it highly.

I recently purchased this book by Gary Barg. It is a terrific source for all caregivers and has every aspect that needs to be addressed in it. It takes you through every part of caregiving, from how to take care of yourself to attending to legal matters promptly. a must read........
this book is chock full of information on the realities of dealing with alzheimer's disease and other memory impairment disorders.it is clearly written and uses examples of real-time situations to highlight situations that can arise and suggestions on how to deal with them.highly recommend it for care providers and others in the lives of those with memory impairment disorders.required reading for adult children to gain an appreciation for the pressures on the care provider(s) for a parent.

The 36 Hour Day
This is a really good book. I kept borrowing it from the library and kept getting fined for having it too long, so I thought I'd save myself time and trouble (and money, too) and buy it. I've come across alot of the same things that are mentioned in the book. This book is helpful to give the caregiver a different perspective on AD and it's nice to know that you're not alone in your struggles. It also reminds you that others have it worse than you do. I recommend this book for anyone who has elderly relatives, with the increased incidence of AD the chances are pretty good/bad that a relative will suffer from it. I think it's best to be prepared for the worst before it gets here. That way you'd have a start on what care would be required and how much you'll have to change your life to accomadate your aging relatives.

Excellent, affordable, comprehensive
This book is a must-have for anyone responsible for realistic decision making about his/her ability to provide health care at home, as well as an excellent how-to guide for those who accept the inherent responsibilities of the caregiver. I consider it the one "best" guide of those available to meet the needs of the growing number of home caregivers.

Calm and Information Guide
Despite the name "survival guide" I found this a calm and informative guide to environmental mold issues. It explained in an understandable way the scientific issues around mold such as what mold is, how it can be a health hazard, and more importantly how mold is not some sort of invisible killer, but something that requires certain conditions to become a problem.

Tips on prevention are particularly well done
Mold growth is a wide-ranging problem only recently receiving recognition in the process: turn to the The Mold Survival Guide For Your Home And For Your Health for significantly more depth and advice than any ordinary newspaper article could offer. Indoor air quality professional teams join a writing specialist to describe different types of molds and how to eradicate them while maintaining health. Tips on prevention are particularly well done.

A keeper.
The strength of this book is in its simplicity and that it provides a good review for anatomy / physiology. I used it to review for the FNP exam and found it to be a keeper on my shelf, next to other primary care across the lifespan books.

FNP guidelines- fenstermacher
HEENT, in particular, leaves something to be desired. Not as straight foward as similar publications. Not comprehensive enough. Pricey.

Handbook for Mortals
I found this book days after leaving the hospital with a two year prognosis for a misdiagnosed illness. My head was spinning.I was making lists of questions and to do lists for leaving my 2 young children.Finding this book was a wonderful gift.It answered my questions and provided a realistic outlook for what to expect of a terminal condition.The book provides sample statements for calling your relatives and helps you to prepare for your doctor appointments.I visited a doctor today and I led the session and all of my questions were addressed before the exam occurred.This book should be recommended to all diagnosed with a terminal illness.Highly recommended book!

Wonderful handbook of the day
My five star rating for this book is because when it was published - and when I first read it - it was uptodate and a leader for resources.Very few books were written to give those who care for loved ones places to find answers. Most available books concentrated on specific conditions and the patients. Also at the time, the web didn't have the helpful, informative sites of today.Personally, I would love to see Mrs. Carter update the book to include the email adresses and web sites for the sources listed. I wish I had read this before
