Does this mean they LISTENED TO US???
The PDR has always been a uniquely important source. However, in various respects the format has been problematic, as some of us have noted. I assume we were not alone--we were probably just a few voices among many. And happily, it looks like perhaps the publisher and its fellow parties have listened.

Finally, the Auriculotherapy textbook
The 3rd edition of Auriculotherapy Manual by Terry Oleson can be used as a standard textbook. In my view, this is a highest praise in the world of acupuncture with its differing approaches and disparate methods. Those differences are necessary, I must add, as it is the nature of acupuncture to depend greatly on personal needs of the patient and abilities of the practitioner.
A useful book for the experienced
There is no doubt this book is comprehensive, combining a variety of different styles of ear acupuncture in one book.There are lots of diagrams of ears showing you the location of the different points of the different styles, which can be a bit overwhelming and confusing for the newcomer.If you are experienced in this field and/or need to know this level of detail on ear acupuncture, this is the book for you.If you just want the basics of one form of ear acupuncture, I suggest�gChinese Auricular Therapy�h by Bai Xinghua (Scientific & Technical Documents Publishing House; ISBN: 7502322612), which is a good standard for Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners.

A true east-meets-west medical model
Terry Oleson's Auriculotherapy Manual is the mostcomprehensive text on the subject.If you are practicing Auriculotherapy (a system of ear acupuncture) or intending to do so, this manual is a must-have.This edition is a vast improvement over the previous, which was difficult to use.The new edition is certainly not easy to use, but it's an improvement.The subject is deceptively complex.Just sticking a needle in someone's ear is not Auriculotherapy--there is a level of understanding required to use the system effectively, and using a medical feedback mechanism is essential.Read more

Love the Pill Book
I've been using the pill book for years.It comes in handy when taking medication.It tells you everything you need to know, and it's easy to use.

Very Comprehensive and user friendly
I recently started classes to earn a degree in medical transcription. My instructor for Medical Transcription 1 recommended this dictionary and told us it's required for a class I'll be taking next semester. So I figured I would invest the money now. I also had a reference test today and wanted to get my own medical dictionary so I wouldn't have to fight everyone else for the ones in the class room. I also noticed that most of the dictionaries in the class room are out of date. I wanted something that was up to date. I found this dictionary to be incredible helpful and user friendly. There is so much information here. It is easily accessable and well organized. For the test, the instructor read the word or term orally and then we had to look up the real spelling and definition. There were twelve terms on the test and I found 10 very quickly and easily in this dictionary. I am glad I decided to purchase this dictionary. I looked at a couple of other medical dictionaries and I was the most impressed with this one.

Great
Practial guide to reading CT images. Great for both Physician and Technologist. Tastes great too!

The best anatomy and pathology book for CTI'veever seen.
There is no better book on the market for cross sectional anatomy.The book uses normal anatomy vs. pathology examples for every body part and major condition that would be visualized with CT imaging.Easy to read, high quality pictures are taken from real Siemens images and put alongside illustrations that label the anatomy. Very good!
I have read Hofer's Ultrasound Teaching Manual, and the CT Teaching Manual is just as good.Easy to read, many nice pictures, helpful facts and not too expensive.Helpful if you read this with the Webb/Brant/Helms CT book. ... Read more

useful tool of reference but...
I think the title should be changed to 'Dictionary of Synonyms and Antonyms'. The word thesaurus used here is unsuitable given that the Theseus of Greek myths was neither a great writer, philologist, lexographer or anything else related to dictionaries. This name is not used for such dictionaries in other western european languages. so why use it in English?

dude i am totally feeling this thegasaurus. not to get all neolithic on you guys or anything, but this thegasaurus really rocks, extinct or not extinct! really though, if this thegasaurus was water, man would I drink it! if it was a chick, i'd be all like, "hey, how's it going?" if it was a show that ran in real time starring keiffer sutherland, i would so tape it and watch it when i got home. that's what thegasauruses are all about man. taping. and taping means saving. please save the thegasauruses!!!! let's not let them die out again!! honestly, if the cavemen from the past were more like the geico cavemen in those commercials, they would have totally rocked and spearheaded a campaign to save the thegasauruses! come on people!!! Just what I was looking for...
This is exactly what I need. I, too, am a medical transcriptionist and am very short on desk space so I was looking for a compact dicationary. And lugging/dragging my old Dorland's off the floor every time I need to look up one little word is really getting to me! Soooo, I'm very glad to have found this handy little book. And it's right in my price range, too!! haha!

People...Please do not waste your money on this garbage.It is out of date, inaccurate and either too simplistic or too hard to understand (I am a physician's assistant).I'm not sure why Webster is letting the DREADED DELMAR get hold of their titles to ruin them like they are doing.This is the second piece of crap they've made out of something nice. ... Helped me Pass NCLEX first trial!
Great Book to have during your course of nursing, whether you're studying for nursing finals or NCLEX.I did not take any review classes and passed NCLEX first trial with 75 questions.If you spend good amount of time studying, you can do it too!

Beware!
This book and CD are full of errors!!The CD was absolutely useless.They appear to be translated from another language and many of the answers were simply wrong, or the book would contradict the answer.In addition, it wouldn't run on Windows XP.This is a waste of money, try the Saunders series, they were much more helpful.I'm surprized so many people have given this book quality ratings, if you own the book take a look at page 691 question 28, this is just one of many errors.

Wonderful Review while in school and for the boards!!
This book is wonderful!!I know that is has some mistakes on the math area, but I over looked that, I did not buy it to help me with the math, rather to help me pass my nursing exams.I have had this book since my second semester in nursing school.It has helped me with through all of the semesters, and then helped me pass the NCLEX!

Great Images
This book is great and I love the pictures.I am studying for my 10-year recertification and have looked at quite a few of the other books out there, and this book wins, hands-down.The chapters are well-written and the illustrations are great.

This book is AWESOME.I am a Stanford medical student and found this book to be THE MOST VALUABLE BOOK I HAVE BOUGHT!Why?Several reasons!First, this book is organized differently.Normally, books are organized by system (renal, cardio, pulmonary) and later offer disease descriptions.This book offers a more realistic approach as each chapter explores a symptom and offers multiple diagnosis (this is so valuable or as we say in med school - MONEY!!!) Secondly, this book has end-of-chapter tables with differential diagnoses to help you recall.So if you're seeing a patient with back pain - look at the chart: cauda equine syndrome, back pain, AAA and what test to specifically to distinguish amongst them).Lastly, the book has amazing pictures, is easy to read, colorful, and not at all boring.Trust me: this is a book you will want to read from cover to cover!
