Very informative and a great book to own
I absolutely loved this book. I initially picked it up because of the pictures in it (most of the other books I looked at just had sketches) and quickly found that I really enjoyed the format of it and the overall wealth of information.
Wish I Had Seen This Book 6 Months Ago!
What an excellent book.It is all-encompassing, and not only takes you through pregnancy in a non-biased way (giving you a broad perspective with a ob-gyn to a midwife) it gives you a look through and after child birth.The information is accurate, complete, helpful, and easy to digest.It puts all of the other pregnancy books to shame.I bought the old stand-by "What to Expect When You're Expecting" when I first found out I was pregnant and think it will work well for starting a fire in my fire pit now that I've found "I'm Pregnant!".

Pro-life readers beware.
I loved this book until I started reading the fine print.Anyone who is pro-life will not appreciate the references to termination.It is also seemingly bragged that few down syndrome babies are now born due to early diagnosis and abortion.I find this to be a sad fact rather than something to rejoice over.The book was fantastic except for those parts which took the joy completely from this book. Many pregnancy books discuss medical issues without having to suggest abortion.It ruined the book for me.I tossed it. ... Read more

Looking for Answers?
A straight-forward explanation of causes for loss of sexual desire in women.It offers psychological (body image, depression, stress, relationship issues), physical, and drug/medical reasons.For these it suggests the best treatment depending on the cause, plus has a section on how to talk with your partner about the problem.

There's a surprise category in this book. But, first, what's best about the book.
Not for the 20-something female
As a 28 year old mom with a 14 month old son and mild depression, I thought I'd buy this book.However, when I read the book, it told me nothing I didn't already know.I wish she could have written a chapter that reaches women in their 20s having these issues.I literally ear-marked 3 pages, which were the only three pages out of the whole book that applied to me.Moreso for women in their 30s-60s. ... Jampacked full of info and knowledge about TCM and how it correlated to helping achieve a successful pregnancy
I was referred to this book by a fellow friend who like me, is trying to conceive a baby over 40.This book talks with detail about how chinese medicine works and in particularly to help "strengthen" our reproduction systems.The information is very clear and detailed and can help anyone starting to explore the benefits of TCM. It enlightens the reader because it never dismisses the Western medical community, but talks about how the Eastern methods of TCM can enhance our already traditionally accepted practice of conventional medicine. It also talks about how TCM works well alone.However, it takes diligence and specialized practitioners to fully incorporate all of this info to practice.Finding a excellent Acupuncturist or Chinese doctor seems integraland the information is amass. I felt I learned quite a bit about Chinese medicine in just one night of reading,and I was already educated in many areas.

a must-read for every woman
Around the time I began using The Pill, a friend mentioned the fertility awareness method, FAM, to me. I wrote it off as the infamous "rhythm method." A year later, desperate to come off the Pill (not a good experience for me), I decided that FAM might be worth looking into.
What a great resource for learning!
I bought this book when I recently attended a class given by Katie Singer on Fertility Awareness.I have been wanting to learn Fertility Awareness/Natural Family Planning for a long time for several reasons: to know more about my body and how exactly my cycles work, to gauge my gynecological health & have a tool for discovering problems, and to adhere to my church's teachings on birth control (I'm Catholic).

Thank good ness for this book!
This book was a wonderful tool for my husband and I when we were exploring DI as an option.This is the one book that truly addresses our unique infertility situation.None of the other infertility books spend more than a page talking about using donor sperm.This was wonderful!

A great book to help with the loss!
I am a DI adoptee and I recommended this book to my mother. She really felt validated by the book. As an DI adoptee I also recommend "Adoption Forum" by Kasey Hamner. It covers DI from all angles. And those touched by DI are represented in many of the other topics. Oh, and remember, always disclose!!

Helped me feel less unique
I agree with other reviewers that this book focuses more on the emotional side than the technical. However, I can get all the technical information I need from my doctor. What this book gave me was a sense that there are a LOT of others out there who are doing what I'm doing. It also helped me focus on and deal with all the stress that the process brings with it. I think you can get a lot out of this book even if you are not the hetero couple that is more targeted by the examples. You still have to deal with the issues between you and the child and the donor, no matter what your relationship is, and those chapters were very helpful. ... Read more

great review for CREOG
Great book..wonderful quick guide to everything you need to know fast!
Could be better...
For this book, you need a magnifying glass to read it! The print is way too small. It's okay to use when accompanied with a textbook but not great on its own. Additionally, I think it's out of date and not up to ACOG standards. Of the entire 5 week rotation, I picked up this book once!

If you are looking for do-it-yourself abortion information like I was, this is not a good book for that. It is a history book. It's good, but not an abortionary (abortion dictionary).

Excellent for veterinary students.
I am a current veterinary student and this book is a necessary reference for small animal anatomy courses. It is very informative and covers all of the anatomy of the dog. Most diagrams are from the more expensive Millers Anatomy of the Dog.

Pros:It is easy to read, not incredibly boring, when it provides good information, it does so in an easy to understand way.
Nice companion for Miller's Anatomy of the Dog
Overall, I found this to be an excellent book for small animal (technically dog only) gross anatomy.I say small animal, but I find myself referring to this text even when studying large animal anatomy.Reason--I like how the text very clearly indicates proximal and distal muscle attachments for all major muscles and specific nervous and arterial supply to all major muscles.Read more
