Great comprehensive reference in Ultrasound
It cover almost everythings you need in Ultrasound practise, great reference guide for those people who have just start thier Ultrasound practise. Moreover, those information in the book are with up to date Ultrasound technology. All in all, great book and worth the money that I spend !!!!!

Displeased with a few Chapters
Some of these chapters are out of date and not useful for the radiologist in general practice. I especially disprove of the Charboneau chapters. Rumack and Wilson are excellent!

I used this book as my primary source...i read it twice before the exam. the cases are amazingly close to what you will get in the exam...trust me... you do not need a course, all you need is the first aid!!!!!!!!!!!!! any other sources can be used as a way of reviewing what you have already learned from that book. trust me you know the content of this book, you are one step ahead of the game.
All you need to pass CS!
This book does a great job of describing the exam format, rules and content. You can easily pass the exam using this book alone. In fact, a few days with this little gem before CS is what most of my friends and I have done for preparation. The consensus is that we ALL felt very comfortable with the simulated patient format based on what we learned in First Aid alone. Of all the cases I had on the exam, only ONE was not specifically covered in First Aid for CS. Don't waste time with other books/resources. I was somewhat disappointed with First Aid for CK, but for CS...it's right on the money!

#1 book for Step 2 CS
This book was excellent for the exam. It told me exactly what to expect and what I needed for the exam day. The cases in the back of the book where almost verbatim of what I saw on the exam. This book is an essential tool for people in the scientific field such as Molecular Biology (obviously), Biochemistry, and Neuroscience. It is comprehensive and up-to-date as far as the techniques are concerned. It isgood value in a sense that you don't have to buy the whole "CurrentProtocols Series" which costs an arm and a leg if you do. Althoughnowadays, a lot of "kits" are commercially available, thetechniques found in this book explain principles and provide differentalternatives suited for your needs. I got the book in great condition, and I can't really review it higher because I haven't gotten through the whole book yet. It seems very helpful so far, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

At last!!!!
I was told about this book by a doctor andfinally I feel better knowing there is a name for what our child was experiencing.We thought it was odd he never cuddled and did not like to walk on certain textures, etc. As i read this book,I could picture exactly how our child would react to situations and it all clicked. Now he is getting a therapist trained in sensory development.

BP in children definitely exists
I didn't have to read the book to know that BP can be a correct diagnosis in children.During my childhood I had intense emotions and fluidity of thoughts.Standardized tests could not measure creativity in science -- I blew them away.History; forget it.Regardless, the same emotion and thought issues that existed throughout childhood translated to adulthood.Anger became extreme and dangerous in adulthood.This is when I extensively researched psychiatric diagnoses and discovered that BP fit me perfectly.Kay Jamisons book confirmed my research.Many years and much medication later, I'm more normal than normal people.
The first resource I recommend to parents of newly dxd kids
As I was reading this book, I wondered how the authors were able to witness what was going on in my family.It was like they were flies on the wall - they described my family to a T.
Bi-polar Child hard cover book review
This book was exactly as described.It was informative and yet not too medically explicit that I couldn't understand the information being explained.It also held a lot of examples from real families which was also helpful and made me feel like this wasn't just a medical book, it was a tool to help me understand that my child wasn't alone in the world which was comforting to know.

Two Words.... "Pure Genius"
Dr. Karty does an excellent job of organizing organic chemistry by its fundamental topics! His method makes learning organic chemistry very feasible and provides the student with effective stratagems for solving problems. As a pre-medical student who constantly worries about doing well, I am glad to have been exposed to such a useful tool that gave me confidence and helped develop a clear understanding of such a complex topic. Who knew that you could understand organic chemistry
Before taking this course i knew it was going to be difficult, i am not telling you that it won't be. I am hear to tell you that Karty's nuts and bolts book makes organic more understandable. It helps to understand the concepts and the methods behind mechanisms, and put them together to predict the correct out come. I bought this book and a text book. I sold the text book back quickly, but i kept this book because i know that i can reread the material and be able to understand what i am dealing with again.

The Nuts and Bolts is exactly that
Before I took Organic Chemistry I was told it was going to be the hardest class I would ever take in my life.I was told it was a ton of memorization and most of it didn't make sense.I used Dr. Karty's book to learn Organic chemistry and for me Organic Chemistry was more fun than it was hard.The class was difficult but his book teaches you to learn Organic by the concepts and mechanisms which in turn makes it so you don't need to memorize anything, you just LEARN Organic chemistry.If you are taking Organic and are worried sick about it, get Dr. Karty's book and let him make a year of Organic Chemistry fun to learn rather than miserablely depressing. ... Of Little Substance
I bought this book thinking that the author would go through some cases, explaining how she does psychotherapy.Not exactly.This book is more of a survey of psychotherapy--basically telling you everything you pretty much already know about it.What's even more frustrating is that not only is it a waste of a book, it's a waste of money. Very frustrating. (I'm surprised too because everyone else gave it such high reviews....I'm not sure what they were smoking...)

Access into the literature
I think the most important use of this book and the others that Nancy Mcwilliams has written is the access they provide into the literature. The books she recommends and references (I've collected a few) are important for an understanding of modern psychoanalysis and (I think) human psychology. I would thoroughly recommendall of Nancy Mcwilliams' introductory text books on psychoanalytic psychotherapy for this reason. Also, Nancy Mcwilliams brings apostmodernist understanding (which seems ironically modern to me) to the study of psychoanalysis. I wouldn't know how to approach a complex tradition like psychoanalysis without such an approach. The personality theories handed down to us by previous generations frequently don't seem to fit together logically -- but they do seem to make sense phenomenologically -- they apply differently to differnt kinds of people. Psychoanaylsis is an important tradition and Nancy Mcwilliams demonstrates this in all of her books.

Our class loved this book!
Tonight as we handed in our "take home final exams" for a Psychoanalytic Theory and Therapy class we all agreed that this book (a required text) was a good read. The author shared her experiences as a therapist in such a practical way, and gave us a taste of how to approach psychotherapy from a psychoanalytic perspective. Not a very appealing text
Chapters are disjoint at times, with no reference to similar concepts between them.Almost as if they were all written separately without any editing to tie them all together.
Health Behavior and Health Education
This book is a must have for anyone in the health education field. It presents all major health behavior theories in a clear and understandable manner, applies theories to case studies at the end of each chapter, and offers a table summary of each theory's core constructs. The book is well written and with this third edition comes more updated research information.

Ok, but doesn't quite live up to its title
I recently took the AP boards and used this book in my preparation.Although using this book does help in overall review of AP topics and identifies areas of weakness, there are several problems with this book.First, the questions do not follow the same format as the questions on the real board exam.Second, as with any multi-author textbook, some chapters are better than others.Third, there are many topics and questions in AP on the real exam that are not covered in this book.The explanations to the questions are pretty good and are quite helpful.In summary, this book is good practice, but don't be too reliant on it and don't expect it to cover everything on the AP boards.

Oschman did something quite exceptional in this book; he expressed my understanding of the way living things work, but went beyond my dark intuitive sense of the significance of the whole, to a crisp,intellectual, yet poetic, expression of the parts in relation to that whole

Exceptional compilation of research
I received this book from Amazon a few days ago and am halfway through it. I'm so impressed by Oschman's compilation of research - it's provided me with countless answers I've been seeking all my life. I am a degreed mechanical engineer, and am currently getting an advanced degree in Oriental Medicine. I've also been practicing Reiki and other energy healing modalities for several years, having been drawn into these alternative healing fields because of my natural ability for sensing subtle energies ever since I was little. Until I started reading Oschman's book I never had a scientific explanation for this energy or why it was so helpful in healing others. I've always known that these energies are real but I definitely appreciate a scientific explanation for any type of energy phenomenon - it makes it much easier to explain to others who haven't had similar experiences why and how they happen. I meet a lot of people who are interested in energy healing and some who are quite skeptical of its validity. Thanks to this book, I now have a clear way of explaining what I and countless others have known all along - that energy medicine really does work. An amazing book
It is just unbelieveable.The collection of photographs is the best that i have come across. I have several forensic pathology books in my collection and this book has the best collection of real life photographs. Reconozco que estoy seducido por la serie de textos de radiolog�a que la conjuci�n Osborn/Harnsberger/Stoller et al nos ha regalado. El concepto es tan brillante que el resultado en manos de tan acreditados autores no pod�a ser menos. En el caso del texto sobre cabez y cuello ten�amos como en sus hermanos gemelos un antecedente ilustre, el handbook que tanto �xito tuvo entre los que sin dedicaci�n espec�fica al �rea de cabeza/cuello pretend�an tener una idea de tan dif�cil �rea radiol�gicamente hablando. El texto actual es hijo del anterior pero con la exuberancia iconogr�fica que el concepto nuevo permite. Adem�s de bonito el texto ex maravilloso en estructura, decisi�n de los elementos claves de cada diagn�stico y aportaci�n de im�genes state of art de cada patolog�a y de sus diagn�sticos diferenciales. Ni sobra ni falta nada. No creo que nadie encuentre, por ejemplo en el Som, nada que no tenga aqu� en la mitad de tiempo. Las introducciones anat�micas son pertinentes y van al grano y la selecci�n de patolog�as es absolutamente indiscutible desde ning�n punto de vista.
