Great learning tool
This book is a wonderful tool for anyone that wishes to learn the anatomy of a horse. I use it with my animal massage and animal communication clients to better show exactly where on the horse they have an issue. It is nice for those people that do not want to see the anatomy of a cadaver animal.

Wonderful learning tool!
I am an instructor/trainer and this book is wonderful for informing students how the horses body is put together and why some horses move differently than others. It also gives the student a chance to see the inside workings of the horse so that they better understand the vet and farrier when they have to explain what is wrong with the horse and treatment options. This book would also benefit anyone who wants to know more about the horse's anatomy. Not to mention it is fun to color!

Nice Muscle Sketches
I wish that I had this book last year. I did a muscle and joint force project for which I needed detailed muscle diagrams of the horse's hindquarters. When I needed the illustrations, of course, I could not find any that had the appropriate level of detail (not online, through videos, books, etc). For this reason when I recently saw this book it. I would strongly recommend that any other rider or person with a starting interest in horse healthcare do the same. This is an excellent addition to a equine reference library.

This is the best book of veterinary acupuncture that I know that it is for sale for the internet.
It is a simple and easy book of understanding, of the way that the students, in the course beginning, need to understand the Chinese medicine, mainly the acupuncture. But for an acupunturista he is also very useful, because it serves as much as a study book and of headboard as of fast consultation, in spite of his size to turn it a little difficult to transport. But I always drop it off at my clinic and I read it whenever it remains a time. Each reading that I do learns a little more. I already possess there is him two years and I still didn't get to read it entirely. It is the book that more has been contributing to my learning as acupunturist. I recommend and a lot to all that are interested in the subject: Chinese medicine and veterinary acupuncture.

A good primer
This is a wonderful text on complementary medical therapies for pets. I highly recommend it and as a fellow holistic veterinarian and author (8 Weeks to a Healthy Dog, The Allergy Solution for Dogs, and the award-winning The Natural Health Bible for Dogs & Cats,) I found the information quite useful.
Loaded with information!
Very thorough book on veterinary acupuncture. It seems intended for veterinarians which may make it hard to digest for the lay person. The theory is very well explained, the chapters on history and studies are informative and the illustrations of points charts are excellent. It lacks on the practical side though. It gives you general knowledge but does not go deep into how to do point selection in relation to your clinical findings.Read more

Clinical Anatomy and Physiology for Veterinary Technicians
This is an excellant book for overall review.I have kept it handy to look forgotten things up, to study for boards and just to review!It is easy to read and is set up for easy finds!

A Very Informative, Interesting Book
I am preparing for my Veterinary Medical Technology Degree. I have many books on veterinary medicine and technology. I ordered Clinical Anatomy & Physiology for Veterinary Technicians because I wanted to better understand the animal body and its systems. This is a very good book for that. It is very easy to read and understand. There are many diagrams that are well layed out and are clear and concise. This is a great book if you are a student or if you just want to learn about the animal body and its many fascinating structures and systems.

Just Excelent
This is an excelent textbook of canine and feline cardiology of highest interest for any veterinary clinician (specialist and not) and any student who wants to learn before going to the real world of disease. It is in my opinion the cardiology textbook that is closest to the clinician and to the reality of the needs and manegement of the cardiovascular patient, with the most rigourous scientific literature.

While taking my cardiology class during my second year of vet school, this book came in very handy.Although my syllabus (which was at least the size of this book) provided the same information, Small Animal Cardiovascular Medicine provided clearer explanations and illustrations that I could read over and over again. Quite Simply: The Best
Miller's Anatomy of the Dog (3rd Ed.) is the most comprehensive, best researched, most lavishly illustrated textbook on canine anatomy available. I teach veterinary anatomy at Colorado State University, and I advise my students that anyone planning to include dogs in their practice should own this text. Beyond the tremendous scope and excellent supportive illustrations, two things distinguish this book. One is Dr. Evans' meticulous adherence to anatomical nomenclature as dictated by the latest edition of the Nomina Anatomica Veterinaria (the international set of "rules" governing anatomical naming). Students can feel assured that the name given in the text (both in Latin and in English, in most cases) is the most correct for the structure. The second truly outstanding feature is the abundant footnoting, which is supported by an encyclopedic bibliography. Dr. Evans cites hundreds of original anatomical publications as he describes the common variations that have been described and presents relevant opinions about disputed functions or constructs. The bibliography is especially useful for anyone intending to use this book to aid their teaching or research. This book belongs on the shelf of all veterinarians and veterinary students with an interest in canine medicine and surgery.

Excellent, detailed reference on dog anatomy!
I initially didn't like this book because I was intimidated by it.Quite frankly, it has A LOT of information.I was required to buy this book as a 1st year vet student taking anatomy and grew to really enjoy this book.I will say that is very tedious to read straight-through, but for reference, it is unbeatable.Every student and clinician should have a copy.The pictures are wonderful and the color-coding of the vessels and nerves make the structures very easy to visualize.Highly recommended.

The anatomy bible!
You will either love this book or hate it.I loved it mainly for the pictures, which it has a ton of.They are well labeled and there are usually several different views.I found them very, very helpful in identifying structures in anatomy lab.Our professor even required us to have at least one copy at every dissection table every day!Read more

Animal Physiology
From explaining how a mammal can stay underwater for lengthy periods, to how a camel can survive without water for days, this is a fascinating description of all types of animals and their unique ways of living. I never knew quite how fish breathe, nor how birds survive freezing temperatures.This is one book I can pick up, open to any page, and find the contents more intriguing than any mystery. It explains in depth the most recent current knowledge with examples of studies when researchers are still unclear about the answers. I am a nurse, not a physiologist, and find it easily comprehensible.

A good buy for any biologist/zoologist
Dr. Hill is as wonderfully knowledgable and intelligent in his writing as he is in his teaching. Fortunate enough to have him as a professor and, incidentally, use his book (co-written with Wyse) as a resource, I strongly recommend it to anyone interested in animal physiology or to any biologist/zoologist. ... Huge help for first-year anatomy lab
I wish I'd bought this book before I started vet school! It's a huge help when you're doing your first in-depth dog dissection, because you can get an idea of what things are *supposed* to look like before you start accidentally cutting them up. Beats the heck out of Little Miller's and its b&w line drawings.

A very good book for veterinary students to prepare for dissections and review material prior to examinations.

Excellent Supplement to More Complete Texts
In this book, Dr. Done and his colleagues at the Royal Veterinary College in London have produced beautiful picture atlas of canine gross anatomy. The book is primarily made up of hundreds of excellent-quality highly detailed photographs depicting dissection of a canine cadaver. Each photograph is accompanied by a brief description of the view and a labeled line drawing identifying structures visible in the photograph. The bulk of the atlas treats canine anatomy by a regional approach, starting with the head and progressing to the pelvis.The first chapter contains a very useful depiction of surface anatomy and its relationship to the boney skeleton (juxtaposition of photographs of a live dog with a skeleton is an outstanding way to teach palpable landmarks); radiographic anatomy accompanies these sections. The last chapter addresses feline anatomy in an abbreviated format similar to the canine anatomy.

A must for your veterinary library...
This book is a must for any veterinary student.My class was using a human physiolgy book, which was very informative, but was frustrating to use.The textbook of Veterinary Physiology is easy to read and well organized and has many tables and illustrations to help you understand the material.There are even case studies in the book that help you apply the information.I gave this book 4 stars, because while very informative, it does leave out a few things (those topics can usually be found in a medical physiology book).Overall, this book is a very good supplementation to veterinary students whose classes use a medical physiology book as their primary text.The only other downer (this is minor) is that the tables and diagrams are all black and white.Color diagrams would be a nice upgrade in the next edition.

This book saved me!
My physiology teacher wasn't the best, so I was VERY glad to have this book. It's very concise, yet extraordinarily well explained, with helpful illustrations. I'm not sure what I would have done this semester without it! Highly recommended.

A great physiology reference

Excellent illustrations; a good reference book for the equine enthusiast
This book has great illustrations page by page and covers a myraid of equine medical subjects from OCD to suspensory ligaments to foaling out. Although it is not extremely in depth I think this is a "must have" for every horse owner as it covers the topics you will come into contact with as a horse owner and talks about possible treatments at time of publishing. For a veterinary text for owners or vet students, I think this is a very good one. I own both Volumes 1 and 2 and utilize them quite a few times every year. ... Read more

Excellent for veterinary students.
I am a current veterinary student and this book is a necessary reference for small animal anatomy courses. It is very informative and covers all of the anatomy of the dog. Most diagrams are from the more expensive Millers Anatomy of the Dog.

Overall, I found this to be an excellent book for small animal (technically dog only) gross anatomy.I say small animal, but I find myself referring to this text even when studying large animal anatomy.Reason--I like how the text very clearly indicates proximal and distal muscle attachments for all major muscles and specific nervous and arterial supply to all major muscles.Read more
