Awesome Resource
This book gives step by step and detailed instructions on how to handle the many things that can go wrong in whelping a litter. I found it a comforting resource to have around so I know I am as well prepared as I can be for what may come. A must have for any breeder, hobby or professional.

Successful Dog Breeding: The Complete Handbook of Canine Midwifery
Great book to follow Breeding for Dummies. Fills in blanks and is very easy to understand. Dwells a little to much on 'breeding is not for everyone' and talking about spaying a neutering. But we all get that and we all hear that and the only reason we buy this book is to learn to breed correctly ie. what to expect in our dog and what to look for in a mate and then how to handle whelping. But overall, a very good book.

The Best and With a Great Dash of Humor

The Complete Book of Foaling
This is book is a complete guide for the foaling attendant.It gives handy supply lists, ideas for predicting the foaling date, and wonderful nutritional advice.There is a lot of good info on warning signs of "things going wrong" and how and when to help the mare out.Great book!It's the second copy I've owned.

A must have for Breeders
If you breed dogs or are thinking of breeding your dog you need to know all of the emergencies that can occur in the middle of the night when no one or no Vet is available....this book will walk you through those problems...it is no nonsense from a gal (an Intensive care RN)that has been there and done that...it also has an informative...step by step... DVD to illustrate how to tube feed a pup and how to give sub Q fluids.

great refresher course!
I purchased this book to become reacquainted with equine reproduction after spending a year in equine practice without reproduction. The text was direct, succinct, and well-versed without extra details that come with other in-depth textbooks. There are many pictures and diagrams, though I would have preferred to see more present. Overall, I feel that the Manual is a great refresher course for veterinarians and equine reproduction specialists. However, I would not recommend this book as the sole text while learning equine reproduction for the first time.

Great reference for Vets
I am a vet student and the vet I travel with uses this book all the time.It has drug dosages and techniques for all kinds of procedures that are well explained and very helpful.I found it to be very clear and concise in the descriptions and easy to locate information since it is well laid out.

Not a good book
This book is for the very advanced. It uses all medical terminology and is very basic with details. They assume it is for vet students. There is no glossary and there are highlighted words that they never explain. It is pure awful!!!! ... Read more

General step by step guide, and it includes all the details
This book is everything I anticipated and more.I really like the format:it *is* a step by step guide, but not a hard and fast training method or inflexible plan.It has accurate and current information in all respects.All the details a person needs to know are there!This is a book I will refer to frequently and I do not feel the need to double-check that the information is accurate.
