Current sophomore in vet school
i agree with what one of the reviewers above wrote, that the book does have some material that is lacking or outdated, however, i am currently in pathology 2 at my vet school, and i have found that this book does a very good job of explaining the various diseases and conditions (esp. the more common ones) in a way that makes it a little easier to comprehend, and supports and clarifies my professors notes greatly.i also found it useful when i was in pathology 1 with its explanations of inflammation, necrosis and neoplasms.it is rather large but i have found it useful for school, and most likely good to have around in practice as a resource. i recommend this book to students that are about to take pathology courses in vet medicine.

A good book for some
I would recommend this book to some students of veterinary science and veterinary pathology, but it is hard to keep pace with such a rapidly changing field - and in some sections, this book hasn't even tried. Glaring errors and out of date references are present in some sections(e.g. the section on Swine Influenza does not mention the zoonoticpotential of the virus or its presence in avian species).Other sectionscontain information and figures which are hard to obtain elsewhere.Usethis book - but with caution.

A good book for references
I would like to recommend this book to any vet students who wish to buy this book. This book may be a little heavy to carry around but the it's good as a back-up reference book. The explanation on the topic ofinflammation and neoplasia is good and to the point. On inflammation, it'sdivided tothe groups of inflammation and and in the topic of neoplasiadifferentiates benign and malignant tumours very detail. I like this this. ... Read more

Fundamentals of Veterinary Clinical Pathology
This is an excellent addition to the short list of available Veterinary Clinical Pathology textbooks.It is a comprehensive compilation of essential information for both large and small animal clinical pathology written in outline form, but with very readable text. I recommend it as an essential textbook for all veterinary interns, medicine and oncology residents, clinical and anatomic pathology residents, and veterinary libraries.It will be a valuable reference for veterinary students and should be added to a veterinary practitioner's library. GREAT TO VET.TECHNICIAN!!
I'm a freshman in veterinary medical college. And I go to my seniors'animal hospital every weekend for studying and assitanting them. Before Iassitant them, I had to know about treating animals with the right way.Then my seniors gave this book to me. I think this book is very good forVet.technician. This book is really detailed for every part of the way oftreating pets. I am sure that this book will be helpful to you, veterinarytechnician or a student often doing assistance in hospital just like me.But i am sure it will not help any junior or senior studying veterinarymedicine.

A worthy effort
This book reveals a good intent that fell slightly short. The authors evidently know their stuff very well and describe many procedures with meticulousness. However, necessary details are missing on ocassion, likewhere to locate the vessel they recommend to inject. The illustations aresatisfactory but sometimes insufficient. One wonders whether photographscould have been better in these cases. I missed some procedures that arecommon in veterinary clinics today like x-rays and some small surgerytechniques that are common in a clinical setting. For examaple, I wouldhave liked to find some pointers on how to operate an x-ray machine. Thebook is very useful and well worth buying it, but the authors couldmakeit even better if they surveyed the needs of their colleagues beforeattempting the next edition.

Manual of Clinical Procedures on the Dog, Cat and Rabbit
I am a director of a veterinary technology program and this is a required text.It outlines the "how-to-do" of procedures as simple as cephalic venipuncture to complicated procedures such as gastrotomy tubeplacement.The value of this book lies in the fact that it lists everysupply or piece of equipment you will need to perform a procedure and thenwalks you through it step by step.The illustrations are awesome.Thisbook would be a valuable reference for a practitioner or technician whowants to perform a procedure for the first time or needs a refresher on theprocedure.The inclusion of rabbits to this edition is a welcome addition asit outlines procedures likely performed in practice. ... This is a great book, but some of the pics need color to more be useful.The text from this book combined with the photography work of the Color Atlas of Veterinary Histology would make an ideal book.

good text but lacks colour
